Re: "The EA Future is Bright"

Some companies just want the cash.

I bet Madden 2007 will look like Madden 2005.

Re: "The EA Future is Bright"

As for looks of the graphics. I think they will be mind blowing to say the least. As for features, I think it'll be nothing suprising in the feature category. But the one thing that nobody has failed to realize is: more power= more animations. Animations will be the key in the up and coming next gen lineup.

That is IMO, the reason why EA has suggested imagining what it would be like for players to show real emotions. Emotions will be in the form of various animations. Player movement has already been taken care of. Of course we could always use a tad bit more, especially in EA sports games. Since the player animations are taken care of, whats next? Make the players look like they're real counterparts. Make players show realistic facial emotions.(Even though, EA has in the past tried this feature)

All the next gen consoles mean IMO, is more lifelike graphics and animations. As far as depth of the games, we should be in for a treat in that category as well. Think how the Sports Illustrated covers in NCAA Football would look if you were able to open up the mag and read a few stories each week. What about if owners mode in Madden included hundreds of cut scenes to accompany each of your decisions. What about having gauranteed diffrent playbooks for each team that are completely diffrent from each other. What about if NBA Live's dynasty mode incuded more cut scenes that were more varied. Imagine each games presentation looking like ESPN NFLs presentation....

I dont know about yall, but I am looking foward to next gen. EA of course will be the frontrunner in terms of sports gaming but if you're feeling a bit pessimistic about EA, just remember the feeling you got when you first seen Madden 2001 for PS2. Or even the feeling you got when Madden finnally went polygonal for Madden 98....or was that 97? Anyway, even though I know EA is full of gimmicks and they're favorite term, "we had to leave that on the cutting room floor" but for every disappointment you've had so far with their last 2 years of EA gaming, rest assure that EA has a team already working hard on the next gen sports games.

COrrect me if I am wrong (which I have been known to be) but is the cell technology going ot eb in the new PS3? According to Sony the cells are bascially individual processers so that each memeber of a team is controlled by basically a different computer as opposed ot the computer controlling the 21 gusy on the field at once. This would bring in a lot of diversity in reactoins by each player. I think thsi would be the better part of hte technology.

wow that would be great for sports and shooting games especially a game like winning eleven 7 where the computer would only control one guy at a time and everyone else would be running back
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

"In an announcement made around the midnight hour earlier this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment and NVIDIA Corporation jointly confirmed that they have teamed up to create the graphics chip for Sony's next videogame console. Though the system has not yet been given an official name, the highly anticipated PlayStation 2 follow-up (known in most circles as the PS3) will certainly have some powerful hardware behind it -- as the SCEI/NVIDIA collaboration will incorporate the next-generation GeForce technology as well as Sony's system solutions for Cell Processor-enabled consoles"

                    From teh NVIDIA thread

I tihnk that cell processor technology is what I am tlaking about. Basically giving each individual person on the field it's own controlling unit and not on unit controlling everyone. This will be the best feature in my mind. Then agian my mind is a lonley place.

that's great you get to see players' emotions. i can't wait to see TO crying after a game winning catch but still having nano-blitzes and bugs one after another. when will EA learn? The devil is in the details. look at winning eleven.
