Flight Sim and Combat for PC

Does anybody know of any good flight games for the PC? I know about MS Flight Simulator but am looking for combat type games. I have a fancy joystick but have never found a decent game to use it with.

I like Il-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles. The flight model is top notch and its jam packed with WW2 era planes, it also supports online play. There is also a demo available.

I don't know of any good modern day combat flight sims.

I like Il-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles. The flight model is top notch and its jam packed with WW2 era planes, it also supports online play. There is also a demo available.

I don't know of any good modern day combat flight sims.

IF you get all the realism "patches" and can handle some quirks, Falcon 4.0 is very nice, IMO.
it does have some issues but when it runs well it is a good game.

I think IL-2 is the greatest flight simulator ever made because how scalable all the settings are. And you can really tweak it to match whatever you are looking for.

IL2: Forgotten Battles
IL2: Ace Expansion pack
IL2: Pacific fighters

I would agree with that statement. You have to use real fighter tactics to be an effective pilot.

Add to the fact there is a website called Il2Skins with all kinds of historically accurate plane skins, it makes for great gaming.
