    God of War SPOILER discussion!

The thread title pretty much lays it out. The game is a masterpiece and should be experienced first hand. I didn't want to ask these questions in the general thread spoilered as I don't want to mistakenly spoil anything. That said, there's just so much to unpack and I have so many questions.

I love how everything is set up moving forward. I just watched an hour spoiler cast on IGN on YouTube with Cory Barlog. I still have two big questions, though.

I still dont understand what happened to the Giants in Joutenheim? Did they just die out or were they massacred?

Faye was a Giant guardian in Midguard. Thor had killed all the Giants in Midgard. Fayes magic or those trees (still not sure which) kept Kratos and her hidden in the forest but a tree she wanted to be cremated on broke the link. Ok. But Baldur showed up looking for Kratos. Not Faye. How's that? How would he even know who Kratos was?

It was interesting his kid is Loki, I feel like watching Thor ragnarok helped make sense of things.

The Thanos infinity stone gauntlet thing is pretty neat. I feel like the move should cause more damage though.

There's a secret 'ending' in the game.

If you go home and sleep after you beat the game, you get to see Thor.

I'm trying to beat the last Valkyrie, she's pretty hard.

I actually watched Thor Ragnarok after beating GOW prepping for Infinity War. I'm hunting the Valkyries now and while I was in Muspelheim I was like I know that giant!

Im in Alfheim now and I just realized that Freya has a brother. That and her connection to the Valkyries makes me realize that in addition to Odin and Thor, Kratos has another very powerful enemy. I'm thinking that in the sequel Freya either links up with Odin and the Aseir Gods or brings out her Valkyrie fangs.

I haven't beat the last Valkyrie. It's hard. I have no idea how someone could do it on hardest difficulty.

I did find it interesting the game completely neglected the part about him killing his wife and kid.

I was not feeling Atreas at that point of the game. Then again, when you stop and consider that he started out as a timid kid in mourning, with a sickness, and also nearly died to discovering that he's literally a god, it kind of makes sense. It also underscored part of the reason why I think Kratos didn't want him to know. He got that "god complex" real quick. It was great character development, though.

I can't even get to the one in Muselpeheim. That kill 100 enemies trial gets me every time.

Are you playing on hard difficulty?

In other news I really think Kratos will kill the kid before the series is over, or vice versa.

I just now figured out why Freya was spazzing about the green arrows, lol. I'm kinda slow sometimes.

In post 1 the OP suggests the wife’s hand prints warded their home. I just saw the beginning again and Kratos cuts down one. Is that how they got discovered? Atreus says the forest feels different. Maybe the wife’s sheer presence was doing something.

This article says every hand hold that was painted, was painted by Faye.
