Was 100% when I heard it originally announed but today blew me away. The 8 player raid is something that I didn't know I needed in division until they just announced it. Very excited about this one and believe they have learned from their mistakes with the launch of Division 1.

They showed horses so not sure if we can ride them or not. Haven't got to watch it yet but here's gameplay of division 2.

Yeah, I'm happy about that! No more dealing with having to buy a bunch of DLC to keep up with the new stuff being added to the game. Granted, paid DLC could come in year two or three, but for at least the first year, all three DLC packs of year one will be free, so that's awesome news and will keep the entire community together and on the same level.

              From kotaku...

The map is bigger than the first game’s by about 20 percent according to El-Zibaoui. He said the game will have several types of environments or biomes—commercial areas and residential areas like the first game had but also overgrown jungle-like areas, governmental areas, the suburbs of Georgetown, the Washington Mall.
Civilians are more than the shuffling survivors asking for bottles of water that they were in the first game. The Division 2’s D.C. appears to be filled with civilian encampments and the player is apparently encouraged to help them. “The living world is a big aspect of it,” Spier said. “ There are settlements of civilians and they all have needs. As you assist them, as they progress toward recovery you’ll see that represented in the world, their recovery.” Would structures change? “You will definitely see changes in the world,” he said, going no further.
Love hearing this since I'll be playing solo.
“If PvE is your focus, there’s going to be a lot of that dynamic happening in the whole world.”

I hope they make it so there is no advantage to going in the DZ other than the fun of PvP. It annoyed me that I felt like I had to go in there to get the good stuff if no event was going on.

Regarding the 8 player...is this only for raids or is it for the regular gameplay as well? I originally took it to mean for the whole game, but listening to it again, it sounds like it might only be for raids which is a bit disappointing to me.

Have they confirmed for sure that DZ is in the new one? They did a good job of making the Darkzone make sense in the context of the NYC setting but I'm not sure it really makes sense for every new setting to have the same thing, especially with the sequel's story being in the context that the disease has basically died out and it's more just fighting against different factions that are trying to take advantage of the weakened infrastructure.

                    Re: The Division 2

I'd like to see improvements to the loot system overall and less bullet-sponge mechanics.

The setting for the first Division is still one of my favorite game settings ever, and it was wonderfully detailed, among other things. After getting through the story and reaching level 30, however, is when things initially came apart. They fixed it a good deal with updates, but as a solo player, it never felt like you could do what you needed. Plus all the different currencies got a tad overwhelming.

I wish there was a way to scale the world for solo players so that they'd be at less of a disadvantage compared to teaming with people. We don't all have three IRL friends to consistently team with, and finding randoms via match-making or third-party sites is very hit-or-miss (plus, at times, uncomfortable).

Even if nothing much has changed, I'll probably get TD2 eventually just to run through the story aspects. I enjoyed getting to level 30 the most in the original.

I don’t think the bullet sponge aspect is going away. Without it there would be no reason to perfect your build. Working on your build just naturally fixes the sponge issue in the games current state.

They mentioned pve a few times so I’m assuming the DZ will be there in some form.

This plus the simple fact that The Division is an RPG. Think old school RPG's where enemies have HP and you attack them via sword attacks, magic, etc. The Division is exactly the same except guns and grenades replaces the swords and magic attacks.

I can understand games like Uncharted have bullet sponge enemies but not when it comes to The Division. I have seen people complain about this for years and I will never understand why. Once you know what The Division is, if anything, you should be expecting bullet sponge enemies because if they weren't bullet sponges, it wouldn't be an RPG.

Looks awesome. Can't wait to jump in next year.

This game isn't getting the hype it deserves... well at least from people who skipped the 1st one. I understand the disappointment fans of the game had in the beginning. I tried TD1 back when it first came out and never got into it. After all TD2 news, I decided to give it a try (as it is free on xbox game pass) and I can't stop playing. It takes a lot of skill and strategy to actually be successful. The gameplay is top notch and I love everything down to the satisfying sound effects.

This game is almost everything I've wanted from a "joined world shooter". Glad I hopped in late as I have all the bonus content and see myself playing all summer. Again, I'm a bit surprised TD2 isn't more anticipated.

Sounds like the White House will be our Base of Operations.

Thanks to an official Ubisoft Brazil YouTube video that discussed some new The Division 2 details, it seems the White House will be our base of operations.

I think that because it isn't coming out until March, and there are so many other heavy hitters coming out before it, is why this game isn't getting that much ink right now.
