There's a bunch of preview videos on youtube that were released earlier today. Majority of the footage is from Bethesda so it's basically identical. Top video is from Easy Allies. Love Huber!!! Guy is pumped for like EVERY game. LOL. Second video is from VG 24/7 which is just showing the game, no commentary.

I'm surprised people aren't talking about this one as much. The first one got slammed due to graphical/performance issues and so on, but once ironed-out (for the most part), it was a really fun game. I've already pre-ordered and am looking forward to playing it.

I got it installed. With the mlb patch out today, I may not play as much of this as I had planned but I’ll post feedback over the next couple of days.

Reviews are meh. Very disappointing.


They had one job: build an interesting open world game. They could have literally taken all of the elements already existing in Mad Max, the first Rage and Juse Cause series, made it first person, added some powers and then spent the rest of development on making the world engaging and deep.


Instead, I've read that the story is like 8 hours long and 13 hours if you do side quests. Seriously?!

Same deal with the first one. Just as it was getting good it was over.


Don't get me wrong though. I thought the first game played great. I really liked how the game handled but there just wasn't enough game.

I am. Pre-ordered at Best Buy using my friend's GCU and also came with a $10 reward cert so $38 before tax. Installed the game and update 1.02 earlier after work. Started playing at 5pm for a 5 1/2 gaming session. I'm loving the game. The gunplay and shooting mechanics is excellent and thus far, I only have one offensive ability (shatter) thus far but man, is it fun to use. Seeing enemies go flying is so enjoyable. In short, the combat in general is simply superb.

Only played the opening intro/prologue and proceeded to complete the first region of everything in it or at least, it seems that way thus far. Haven't even started the second story mission yet which I'll do tomorrow. Was just taking out outposts, barricades, sentinels, etc., finding resources, completed a few Arks which is where you get the abilities. Also acquired the Dash ability and Double Jump ability.

Music and sound have been great with the voice acting being good as I haven't had that much of it since I spent the majority of my time clearing out the first region. Visuals leave a little to be desired especially coming off of Days Gone. Of course, im only in the first region and am expecting the visuals to get better as I go along. Resolution is only 1080P on PS4 Pro (and X) in order to keep the frame rate at 60 or very close to it throughout.

Story and characters are simply fine at this point. I'm not expecting a classic in this aspect but as long as it's at least good or close to it, I'll be fine simply because the fun and enjoyment comes from the gameplay.

If I had to list a negative, it would be the driving. The vehicles have weight to them which is fine but the speed in general is slow. It needed to be sped up a notch or two but in fairness to the game, I haven't upgraded my vehicle yet whatsoever. As of now, it just doesn't have the speed or fluidity that Mad Max had which was awesome.

In summary, if you're a fan of what is basically every open world game now with icons on the map that represent different activities to complete, the fast paced smooth as butter gunplay of Doom, the open world setup and car combat of Mad Max, you'll most likely enjoy Rage 2.

As I already knew since this game simply appeals and caters to what I want, like and prefer in open world games in addition to loving Mad Max and knowing that Id Software is arguably the best when it comes to First Person Shooting and combat, Rage 2 will definitely be a 9/10 for me. Some will say how could I know that the game is a 9/10 for me. That's easy because I already knew what to expect, played Doom (2016) and loved Mad Max plus im a fan of Avalanche Studios and the gameplay overall just lines up perfectly for me.
