I was going to create an official topic for OT but since im currently playing Nier, it's going to be a few weeks before I get to the game so I decided not to. Definitely looking forward to it. Who's your main (locked) character? I'm going with Primrose once I finally play the game.

I started with Cyrus. I like the ability to “analyze” my opponent. I’ve added Ophilia to my party.

Picked this up but sure why. I have never played this type of game before, but I am having a good time with it. Any help on how I can tell how much more damage I have to do to my opponent before I take them out? And what does break mean?

There’s a number in the little blue shield next to each opponent. That is the number of hits it takes to break their defense. For example, if you’re fighting a guy with a 2, it’ll take 2 hits from one of his vulnerabilities to break his defense. Once his defense is broken is a good time to bomb on him with a boosted attack.

I’m not sure about finding out much more damage there is before an opponent is defeated. I’d like to know that myself.

It's great to play an old school Jrpg again. Getting tired of the futuristic fantasy setting with waifus and feathered haired pretty boys that all the new games come out with.

I'm not a RPG fan, but I keep hearing people, both on OS and friends off OS, talk about it that I think I'm going to cave and see what the fuss is all about.

Admittedly, I don't have much experience with the RPG genre, and there are some that I've tried that I definitely didn't care for, but man this game is awesome! Love the art style and the music, especially during boss fights, is top-notch.

There's a lot to do, but nothing feels overwhelming. I always know where I need to go to advance the story and when I should be looking at upgrading equipment/spells, etc.

Each character has their own story, and as you go your party will expand, but the stories are still told from a solo perspective, with the other main characters there to assist in battles. I haven't seen much in the way of character/story crossover, but have to think there's at least some of that as you spend more time with the game.
