Cost of Xbox 2/PS3

Anybody have any idea how much these systems are going to cost?

$300? $400? $500?

and games $50? $60? $70?

I'm not trying to be a smart @$$ but $300-$500 is what we can expect this time around. Both Sony and Microsoft have hinted they may release different models of their consoles with added features.

I would guess that a gamers PS3 and Xbox2 console will start out $299.

Expect games to stay in the $49 range with EA Football maybe selling for $59 dollars. The bottom line is it's too early to tell so we'll probably have a better handle on pricing at this year's E3 where Microsoft and Sony will probably unveil their systems.

The systems, 400+. I'll be one of those people waiting for the price to go down.

As for the games, anything above 55 is absurd. That's like the catridge days.

If sony makes it's own hardware like it did with the PStwo and the PSP, the price wouldn't be much different than what the price range is now. The PS3 will be around $150 -$200 bucks if my guess is correct.

Microsoft doesn't make it's own hardware which gives Sony the edge in the price battle.

The Xbox Next will release earlier than the PS3, but the cheaper one wins.

As for the games, the prices will stay the same. The Xbox Next will still use DVD's (HD-DVD which is around 25 GB?) and the PS3 will use the Blu-Ray disks which range from 25 GB's to 50 GB total. The PS3 has a blue laser, but the disk is the same so, I don't see a price change.
