Echoing the comments here: this game is good and a steal as a free download. I can’t believe EA (or any company) can fund something like this based on people buying EA bux for extras but there you have it.

I’m actually feeling pretty good about TTK. Better weapons do more damage and attachments absolutely matter. Larger clips are a huge buff and stocks/barrels certainly lead to better accuracy. The bottom rung weapons can feel like they’re shooting BB’s but I think it’s better everyone isn’t running around with guns that melt health immediately. There’s some theater to fights.

damn, I dropped a mortar strike w/ Banglador and took out an entire team, including the champion but they don't show up on your kill total. I wanted that because I only have 2 haha. Just got a lot of points for it.

Got a win with a kid who sounded no older than 10, but his skills were so much better than mine lol.

Just got my personal best 8 kill win while killing the final 5 by myself. My team dropped off early and I played it safe until I didn't need to. Missed some shots that could have cost me luckily it didn't.

I hope they add full stay tracking soon. I'm glad solos and duos are coming as well.

So I spent some time playing last night. How do you tell which weapons are better? I'm not understanding which weapons I should be swapping out as I find more stuff.

Personally for me I avoid the Prowler and Alternator SMG's at all cost. They're horrible and serve no purpose except for early game engagements. Always avoid the Mozambique as it's 3 slug ammo count is horrible as is it's damage output. The peacekeeper I find really inconsistent. If it has the right attachments it can do serious damage but in it's base form it's pretty lackluster.

I usually use the hemlock, R-301, VK-47 Flatline, EVA-8 and the G7 Scout. All really good weapons that become better once attachments are added.

Got my first win this weekend. It was actually just me and one random as the third person either quit or lost connection at the beginning of the match.

Weapons to some degree are a personal preference thing. I'd recommend going into the tutorial and trying out the guns and seeing which you prefer. Attachments will obviously make a difference to how a weapon handles so take that in mind as well.

I suck at this game! I don’t think I have killed anyone in like 8 matches.

I really don't want to talk to randos on a squad. I've read the pinging system is really good. Is it worth trying to play or should I just wait until solo is available?

The ping is so good, might be one of the bigger innovations in gaming since achievements.

Not that kind of ping (network latency) - what we're referring to here is highlighting something in the game world that your teammates need to know about - enemy locations, your destination or intent, loot types (specific weapons/ammo/equipment on the ground), etc. It paints a marker onto the screen indicating the location of whatever someone is wanting to point out, along with a voice clip from the character about it. Several of the ping commands are context-sensitive too - if you press the ping button on empty space you'll just get a yellow indicator as a "go to here" location, but if you highlight an enemy you'll get a red marker along with your character saying "enemy spotted".

All of that is possible through this game's ping system - it's an invaluable communication tool.
