i got another question about xbox live guys i went out and bought this thing that would finally connect xbox live to my wireless connection. So i was going through the live registration process when it said credit card number and payment method, i thought it was supposed to be a two month free trial. Do they automatically charge you or something when your trial is up, and is there a way to get around paying for xbox live, thanx

For my free year subscription, I went through the same thing. I think they need your CC for renewal, or after the free subscription is up. You wont be charged until after the free limit is up. You should be getting an Email about it soon.

They attach each gamertag to a credit card, and yes, you have to cancel else they will charge you after the two month trial.

And no, there is no way to get it free. You can only have one gamertag per XBox, so choose wisely.

Credit Card

You will need a standard Visa, MasterCard, or American Express card, or a debit card branded with a Visa or MasterCard logo. Yes, you already paid for the first 12 months of service when you bought your Starter Kit, but your account must be linked to a valid credit card. Your card will not be charged for any additional charges without your explicit consent for the duration of the 12 months of service.

Note If your credit card or debit card expires, you'll need to modify your billing information for your account. For more information about your billing profile, see Modifying Your Billing Information.
Debit Card

If you want to use a debit card, a few restrictions apply:

* Your debit card must have either a Visa or MasterCard logo.
* Your debit card must not have restrictions on subscription-based or Internet purchases.
* You must have more than 99 cents available in your debit card account.
* The expiration date on your debit card cannot be the same month and year as the date you set up your account.

If you do not know if your debit card has restrictions on subscription-based or Internet purchases, contact the financial institution that issued the card for more information.

This DOES apply for the free trial too. Same concept. Yeah you already have the card, but it still has to be link to a valid cc. Some people say it's because they need to verify your age (if you are under 18, then a parent has to do it for you, deciding if they will allow you to play or not). Others say it's to verify your identification.
