On a side note, how does the bits measurement relate to the gaming experience, and, why does the number of bits when referring to a game console only increase by a power of 2? Why can there be no such thing as a 307-bit game console?

Here is my question. If Apple Computers is supposedly the first company to create a 64-bit processor (G-5), what does that say about the Nintendo 64 and the Dreamcast? Both of them were already 64-bit and 128-bit respectively. If the 128-bit processor was already invented on the Dreamcast 6 years ago, what is the big deal about Apple's G-5 announcement last year?
