There's a ghost playing my Playstation!

Okay seriously, recently my controller (or PS2) has been going crazy on me. I was playing CH2K5, and all of a sudden, the player that I am controller (or am supposed to be controlling) starts moving around on his own, taking shots, passing, and doing random stuff as if someone's pressing the buttons on my controller. At this point, I'm just holding my controller, not pressing anything.

So, my there is no one using the controller or pressing down on it's buttons, but the player in the game is still moving around, shooting, etc. At this point, I just unplug my controller, and re-insert it. Everything settles down for a while, but it starts up again. Then I reset the system and it became normal. A couple of days later, the same problem happened, and again, I just re-inserted the controller, and it was fine. Today, before I played, I switched my 1 player controller with my 2 player controller, and the same problem occurred.

Now this only happens with the 1st player controller, and every once in a while. It doesn't have anything to do with the controller, because even when I switch controllers, it doesn't help. It's not the game either because I had the same problem in GTA and Smackdown.

Anyone have this problem?

Did the ghost get you before you could finish?

It could be a problem with the controller port, but I don't know what to say honestly. I hate to bring in ghost stories, but I actually do know one that is very similar to what you experienced and it's a true story. I guess it's possible that you have a video gaming ghost, but it's more likely that something is wrong with the controller port.
