Two incomplete ones? I think that would be one incomplete game if ESPN had all the teams and EA only had some.
Surely you don't think they can realistically outbid EA for anything relating to buying player or team rights?
These things come down to the highest bidder. The NFL deal did, and so will the others.. Companies want to make money, and they aren't going to sell to the first bidder as much as they are the highest bidder.
Also, I don't understand how a game company could buy the rights to only five teams. The teams are all in the same league, and thus a "package deal," and I still fail to see how it's even possible to just buy the rights of five of them.
Furthermore, if given the choice between having two games, one with all real teams and players, and one with none, or two incomplete games with a few real teams but fakes ones as well, I'll always choose having one fully liscensed and represented game. Granted, it would be better to have two fully liscensed and realstic games (team wise), but that isn't happening in the NFL games anymore, and I seriously doubt Sega has the financial resources to outbid EA for the other sports.Enjoy football? Re: Something VC could do to hurt EA
I agree, I was just showing what the original poster meant since Footballforever didnt quite see what he was saying. I dont think that would happen mainly because I dont think you can buy exclusive rights to teams because they are all under the mlb liscence. But, maybe there is some baseball team who you could buy rights to. I think Duke in the ncaa has there own rights aside from ncaa. I think a few college football bowls have their own rights which EA owns.
But that is college, that maybe a way to hurt EA, but I doubt it would work./Comment
