Really?

France (Gallia) didnt surrender to the Roman empire? Napoleon didnt surrender? France didnt surrender themselves to Germany during WWII? These are some of the most major events in their history here....

EDIT: Dont let me also forget how they surrendered all the United States east of the Mississippi to the British at the end of the French and Indian War.

And to the guy complaining about people not knowing their history...The reason the French helped out during the American Revolution is because they got whooped by the British only 20 years earlier and hated them with a passion. Thats not a noble reason for a country to help another.

The french didn't surrender Louisiana they sold it to support one of the best armies the world has ever seen. They later did surrender because of Napoleon's stupidity of marching them to russia and russia's brilliant counter strategy. And yea they surrendered to the germans but if it wasn't for the U.S. all of europe would be speaking german.
