Gears of War, for me, is what videogames are about. It's big, loud and just fun. It's a high octane interactive movie that is made better if you have a nice sound set up. My son got into videogames watching me play Gears 3. We don't play any of the same games these days but he ran downstairs to tell me that he has Gears 5 preloaded through Game Pass. I had almost forgotten about it. I'm ready now, though. Heres a little snippet of the campaign for those interested.

Early Access was pushed up a few hours. You can start playing on Thursday 9pm ET if you preordered ultimate edition or have ultimate game pass.

I haven't really cared about Gears in some time, but just a few weeks ago thanks to Game Pass we got into Horde Mode on Gears 4... and that consumed the last couple weekends. Bring on 5 and it's 3-player co-op campaign, hode mode, etc. Can't wait.Comment

I think Gears 5 will be a good point to get into the franchise. One thing I loved about the old Gears games was that it knew what it was; juiced up dudes killing and blowing up monsters. Lol. There wasnt a lot of substance, the story was blah, but it was a good time. Everything doesn't have to be all deep and allegory. From the little I have seen they have put some work into fleshing out the world. It's still very much Gears, just a bit more fleshed out.

Well it took me a year but I finally finished GOW4. Enjoyed it and can’t believe it took me this long to beat it. Bring on 5 tonight!!!

Right off the rip I love they way they run now. The camera would make me nauseous because of the way it moved when they ran but now it’s looks more realistic. Love it!!

It'd like an option to put the round recap on horde mode down the side of the screen so I can run around and be productive for those 20 seconds it's up.
It seems like most people just stick around for the first 25is levels of horde and then split.
