I, unlike most people, loved the movie. I received GI in my mail today and it had the review for The Punisher: 7.5. I read the review and even with the "flaws" or what have you, it sounds pretty awesome. A lot of people are calling this the most violent video game to date, but its pretty scary when the comics are even worse.

Re: The Punisher
Game is pretty good, especially if you liked and followed the character in the comix. There are more than a few recognizable stories at play. Couple nice cameos also.
The Graphics are OK, nothing to write home about, but decent. It gets way too dark in some areas, and some of the textures look downright PS ONE-ish. The overall visuals on the XBOX scream PS2 port. Not bad, but not great.
His moves are limited, but there are seemingly hundreds of ways to "quick-kill" and interrogate the enemies. All of the interrogations utilize the thumbstick IE...Once you have a guy in your clutches, you can choose an interrogation method. For the "punch" method, press hard left on the stick to rare back for a punch, hard right on the stick to deliver the blow, feather the stick back and forth to "threaten" the guy with the punch until he squeals.
Besides the interrogation shtick, this is a poor mans version of the brilliant Max Payne series. Same diving, same bullet time, same feel and control.
The tons of swag/unlockables are cool.
Overall, I'd give it a solid 78/100. Must buy for Punisher fans....must rent for everybody else.Last edited by HMcCoy; 01-21-2005, 02:07 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: The Punisher
This game is what the movie should've been like. Sure it sucks a little having the screen go black and white during the special interrogations but other than that its a great game. I hate Max Payne but love the Punisher. If you have a modded Xbox you can get rid of the black and white filter during those scenes. You can also have the faces get bloody when you're punching thugs in their face too. Over at the Gamefaq boards they're talking about it and they're trying to work on the camera angle during these scenes too.
If you like going into large buildings and areas out gunned and killing everybody in sight then this is your game. I also like how killing people replenishes your health like in the Blood Rayne games.
THQ should've shipped 2 versions. I would've got the AO (Adults Only) version over the M ( Mature) version for sure. I can't in good conscience call this country free with all the censorship that goes on here in the U.S. I'm an adult and I hate how things are done to shield things from children. All these people fighting for these ratings and cencorship crap don't realize that they're making generations of sexual deviant murderers. If you hide it from them they'll want it even more.
I would rate this game a 8.7 out of 10.Last edited by sportsgeist; 01-22-2005, 05:40 PM.Comment

Mix this game's story and gore-factor with the screenplay/direction of "Man On Fire" and you would have had a great Punisher flick.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: The Punisher
I might be on of the few, but I really liked The Punisher the movie. Thomas Jane was excellent as The Punisher IMO. Well, anything was better than the joke Dolph Lundgren was.Comment
