Outriders (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X)

Outriders is a third person cover/run and gun based looter shooter which can be played completely solo, two player co-op or three player co-op. Including side quests, it's said to have a 40 hour linear campaign with hubs/towns that include vendors, side quests, etc.

Developed by People Can Fly who developed Painkiller, Bulletstorm and Gears of War Judgment. Published by Square Enix. Will be available Holiday 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Below are three official trailer that were released today as well as previews from Easy Allies, JorRaptor and Game Riot who were among many that played the game for approximately 3-5 hours.

Personally, I am all in barring some kind of launch disaster. Story seems decent from the videos but it's the gameplay, shooting mechanics and abilities that are the highlight in my opinion.

I am definitely interested in this. It has a Mass Effect vibe to me. Will wait and see what the finished product looks like tho

Square Enix will finally be announcing the release date for Outriders tomorrow at 12pm EST. I will update this game thread with the info as well as Broadcasts #2 and #3 once that gets announced. Hoping for this Holiday Season but we'll see.

Obviously they are both on the Unreal engine, but in addition to the Destiny comparison I got a very strong Gears of War vibe from those videos.

The developer People Can Fly did develop Gears of War Judgment so that vibe is definitely there. I see Outriders as a Gears of War/Division cover based third person shooter in a sci-fi setting ala Destiny. Shame it's four months away but very much looking forward to it.

My son loves it. I watched a little and it’s very action packed. Gonna play tomorrow morning (my normal gaming times are early morning before work). 4 different classes with melee, guns and special moves (earn up to 3 through playing).

It's if Destiny/Division had a kid, this would be it...not in a bad way but nothing really stood out to me, I do like some things about the game, but if there was ever a time when there was a "been there done that" vibe, this would be it...of course this is all my opinion.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

Touches on a lot of my thoughts of the game so far as well.

Largely it's what I'd expect if Ubisoft or CDPR made a Gears of War game. Unlike Division, Assassin's Creed and Cyberpunk though I feel like there's not enough weight in your character's movements. The gameplay would benefit greatly if it was a little slower, too.

Haven't had the chance to play the demo yet but will do so this weekend. I'm already planning to buy the game so barring some unforeseen disaster in the demo, I don't see that changing.

Not a bad demo. But it is a hard pass. Any game that is or can be single player that is an always online/game as a service model is not something that I will invest time or money in. Shame really but that is just the way it is.
