For you to travel you need nook miles you get those by doing various things on your island. For u to get out of your tent u need to talk to Tom and he will tell u want u need to build your house.

So I’m trying to figure out what to do at this point. Looks like I can’t travel. Where do you guys store resources gathered? Just in your tent or do you sell? I see my fellow inhabitants already have little houses and I still have the tent. Lol

I figured out that I needed to pay off my moving fees first. Now I’ve taken out the 98K bell loan for my house. I had thousands of nook miles and the dodo told me he couldn’t find any islands locally or online.

You (I believe) have to have friends that have "opened" their Islands to visitors first.
However you can buy Nook Tickets with the Nook miles and use that ticket to travel to NCP Islands in the meantime...

I've almost made it to my 2nd house upgrade. Just a few more thousand $ to go.

This might not be my favorite AC game but it is solid. I love how relaxing these games are. AC and The Show are my go-to "sit back, put on Spotify, and watch hours blink away."

Switch really is a winner. The games are just top notch. Well, aside from sloppy ports, but the first party games are excellent (IMO of course).

Been playing this a lot since I purchased it. Having a great time with it. Never played an AC game before this one either. It's so much fun. One of my friend's who has the game actually came to visit my island last night and she brought me a bunch of gifts. When I get back on after work today Nook's Cranny should be up and running.

As someone who likes doing redemption tasks, the Nook Miles are great. I find myself wanting more and more of them. Also, the museum is a really awesome feature in the game.

I have visited 2 islands so far for supplies and such and have invited 2 animals to live on my island.

Hoping to get the ladder soon so I can get onto some cliffs.

I have every Bunny Day item crafted. Finally! Gave the remainder of my eggs to my son to use for his character. Bunny is creepy as hell, I agree.

I love this friggin game! It and Retro Bowl are literally all I play these days.
