    PS2 HDD Question

Has anyone tried to put a generic hard drive into a PS2 (ones without the Playstation logo or bundled with FFXI)? Any successful results?

I have the Sony HDD, but I know that you can put other types of hard drives in the PS2 if you so desire. Do a search on google and I'm sure you will find more info on which drives are compatible and which aren't.

I have a Maxtor 120Gb HD in my ps2. Maxtors and Seagates will work, just make sure they are ATA and not SATA (Serial ATA). Western Digitals will NOT work without some modification to your network adapter. The power and IDE connectors are too far apart on Western Digitals.
