    Rogue Company

    Official "Gameplay" Video

I thought there was a thread for Rogue Company, but I guess not. Has anyone here tried this free game? I was not going to, but I downloaded it, and now I am addicted.

It is a 4v4 shooter. It is fast paced and super team reliant. I cannot put it down.

I've been playing on Xbox. It really is a fun game. I've unlocked Scorch and the Sniper girl(forgot the name) and have a few characters at level 4. My only problem is that Dallas's ability is a little OP when used by a good player. I also think Vy's ability lasts too long.

My buddy and I have been complaining about the people who use Dallas on our team because they use the ability, but ignore that it points out where the player is on the other team. It feels like half the time, we get two smart players who run as a team.. But that other half of the time.. Oh boy.. I have been wanting to get back into streaming, and this is one I want to stream.. But I would not last with how infuriated some of these dudes get me whether it be them not staying with the group, or not playing at all.

How are the matches structured? I get it is 4v4, but what is it round based, one life only, what's the objective, etc.?

So, you have Strike Out, which is essentially TDM. Each team gets 12 lives. The first team to win three rounds of it wins the match. However, you can also win by capturing a point and holding it uncontested for a certain amount of time (I do not know what that amount of time is.)

You have Extraction, which is essentially the same as Strike Out, but each person has one life. Also, this one is the first team to five wins.

Finally, you have Demolition, which is essentially the same as Extraction, except now you can plant a bomb. If it blows up, you win, if they defuse, you lose.. If you kill everyone, you win. This one is the first to seven wins.

TL;DR? Kill everyone and you win. Die, and you lose.

They currently have a limited time mode that is a mix of all the modes one a map designed by streamer DrDisrespect.

It is definitely not for everyone. My wife tried and she cannot get into it. I am shocked that I like it, but I seem to be hooked to HiRez games.

Tried it out. Game isn't bad. My buddies haven't downloaded it yet, so I played with randoms only. 3 games in, 3 easy wins.

I am sure the game isn't trying to compete directly with a CSGO or Valorant, but I do wish the rounds and games lasted a bit longer like those games. The rounds themselves are already over in a flash from what I've seen so far and the matches themselves are over quickly because of it.

I'd assume that is by design. The game seems to be aimed at being a nice pick up and play experience that is a bit more casual than the two games I mentioned above. It does that very well. The game seems polished and it is fun. I may not be their target audience, though, as I prefer the type of competitive gameplay like the two games I mentioned. I enjoy the longer matches that have longer rounds and gameplay with a bit more pressure. I also like the ranking systems those games have that I believe this game lacks as of right now?

I think I saw that on their roadmap they are aiming for a competitive playlist, but I may be wrong. If so, that may give me the type of experience I prefer. Right now the game looks like something I may play here and there when wanting something that's PVP, but I am tired or lack the time for a Valorant match, but it won't be something I put a ton of hours into it right now because I guess it's too casual for me in the state that it is in.

My buddy that I play with told me they tweeted last week that they are going to be adding Ranked Play, which we are looking forward to. We know we will have to find two more people for that, though.

I think what could solve the issue you are talking about with match length is making the objective actually matter. Four lives is nothing. Four lives against a good team can take less then 30 seconds.

My main character is Saint. If there is a medic character in a game, that is who I will pick. Dima would probably be my second choice if I could not be Saint.

I put together a mini compilation of me running around as Saint just trip mining people. Caution: I am annoying when I get a trip mine kill I am not expecting.

                          Re: Rogue Company

If anyone is working on the Platinum Trophy, some of the trophies are not working properly, the most notorious being "Good Company."

"Good Company" is win eight matches with eight different characters. Obviously, this means you either need to save up Reputation or spend real money to unlock two more characters. HOWEVER, some of the characters do not count towards it, and it appears to have been that way since the game came out. It sounds like it is not everyone having the issue, but it is a wide spread issue.

I am experimenting right now and here is what I have found so far.

Characters who have NOT counted towards the trophy:
                          Dahlia
                          Lancer
                          Scorch
                          Talon

Character who HAVE counted towards the trophy:
                          Chaac
                          Vy
                          Gl1tch

Characters I was not able to test:
                          Phantom

There was also a free character that did not count, but I did not know there was a glitch with the trophy, so I was not keeping track in the beginning.
