Re: What are the best FPS games you played on current gen?
Insanely thankful for all the colourfull tips, folks.
Will definitely have to do some research on games I was only very vaguely aware of like Borderlands (courtesy of @Josh) or Wildlands (courtesy of @Armor and @Bullit), as well as games that already had my attention like Division 2 (courtesy of @KSU) or Fallout 4.
Metro series is also on my radar, though I think I would do just fine with only playing Exodus. (Too many good games out there.) I am generally aware of the plot and as far as I saw, the intro in Exodus pretty beautifully sums up what our civilization has gotten itself into. I would also for sure play it in Russian, though with subtitles, because my own Russian is next to non-existent.
Far Cry 4 versus Far Cry 5 might be a question for the ages, too. I keep hearing that 4 is generally better than 5, but from what I saw, I just could not stand the bad guy from 4. I hate this kind of people, can't help myself, even virtually. The guy from 5 seemed far more interesting to me. He was not only bad, but also dark, and watching him really gave me creeps.
Titanfall 2 is also something I keep hearing good things about, though with this one, something just didn't click inside me just yet. Game looks very nice though with an interesting story, so who knows. [emoji846]In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Does not look like a AAA game / studio to me and maybe not a pure shooter but it seems like first person and kind of got my attention. Looks interesting.Montreal Canadiens

And my reading backlog is even more depressing than my gaming backlog so I doubt I ever pick this up, but happy for those who did and enjoyed it. You can never have enough good books / stories.
Speaking of Star Wars, I spent 5 to 7 years of my life reading throud the entire Old Expended Universe, some 50+ worth of books, from Rogue Planet through Han Solo Trilogy through Shadows of the Empire through New Jedi Order up until the Dark Nest Trilogy.
I stopped just around time when The Rise of Darth Vader and the Legacy series started coming out, which I kind of regret to this day, mostly due to work / new relationship related time constraints, and by the time I wanted to get back into the universe, damn Disney swooped in and sent all the universe to hell.
I am never going back down that road again, ever.Montreal Canadiens

Re: What are the best FPS games you played on current gen?
I may be a minority and I probably don't even know how to properly explain it, but I think a first-person vs. third-person perspective makes a lot of difference. I feel like first person makes it harder on user because maybe you're more limited in what you see, you probably need to focus more, jump-scares are more scarier, these kinds of things. On the other hand, a good kill may feel a tad more personal, the atmosphere or enviroment might suck you in just a little bit more, things like that.
So essentially, yes, I am looking for a first-person experience first and foremost, but a side-note tip for any other good shooter would always be welcome (FWIW, your description of Life is Strange in one of the other threads sold me on getting that game).
LOL.....No, I'm not going to try selling you a new system but I will say if you know someone with PS VR, then ask to try Firewall: Zero Hour with the aim controller although, it sounds like you're a fan of FPS with a good story attached to it if I'm not mistaken. However.................
If you're asking me what was my best experience in FPS games I played on current/past generation, then FZH takes the prize while engaging in multi-player combat. They're some issues (such as dedicated servers) but when playing with a team of 4 against another group where everything is working right - I've never been more immersed, so mesmerized, so taken back from playing a game with such realism than this game was for me. In VR, first-person has no limitations in what your seeing.
