People that already has ps2 will probably pick up a ps3 because you can play old games on ps3. That is a huge selling point for me, becuase i don't want to have all these games go to waste. Also, ps3 is going to be the best system technically which was the main problem with the ps2 and xbox, but ps2 has a better rep than xbox overall imo. Think of a game like GTA on ps3, they can make the game so good with all the possible space, and there will not be limitations on ps2 games because of graphics. Ulitmately i think the public will see how great the ps3 is specs wise and give it a shot. Though i think it will be pretty close between ps3 and xbox 2

North America will be closer and can go either way but Europe and Japan will still belong to Sony.

EDIT: For PS3 to finish last in NA Sony would have to drop the ball with PS3. I talking no 3rd party support, and a VERY underpowered system etc... Neither of which will happen so...

Japan isn't nearly as important as it used to be. Most of the big selling games there are established franchises. They also don't account for as many sales as North America and Europe do for game sales.

I really don't think we know enough about any to determine anything yet. If Xbox 2 comes out this year and about a year ahead of the others, their biggest advantage this generation could be gone (more powerful). I don't know what the hell to think about Nintendo's Revolution. I'm a big Nintendo fan, but I don't have a clue what they are thinking most of the time. If I had to guess, Revolution is going to be vastly different than the others so either it will be so good everyone will have to have one to play its games, it will be a good compliment, or it will not be worth buying with the other 2 options available. PS3 will probably be the safest bet since I doubt it changes much from the Playstation philosophy.

PS3 is going to sell the most units worldwide while it's a toss up between the Xbox and PS3 in the U.S. (The system with the better harware will win in the U.S. IMO)

I give the advantage to Sony because they make hardware unlike Microsoft.

Do you guys think the graphical margin will be really close between the two consoles for those multi-platform sports games?

I just can't see Take Two, EA, whoever, making THAT different of a game depending on the console. Who knows though.

Going by what most of us know already you're correct. All multi-platform games will pretty much look the same next gen.
