    Subnautica

Instead of starting a new thread, I would have tried to search for an existing Subnautica thread(s) but for some reason I cannot access the Operation Sports search page and did not see any active Subnautica threads going back to 2018. So here it is, a new thread to talk about Subnautica. Oh and this is not the Below Zero sequel, this is for the original game (though of course there is no harm talking about both games).

Now why start a thread for a game several years old? Well I guess I missed out when the game first game out. But it was only a little more than a week ago when I was looking at the PSN Spring sales when I came across an offering to download the PS4 version of the game for free. Now I am aware that more gamers play the PC iteration of this game, but the PC iteration was not free while the PS4 was. Of course that was last week. This week the PSN has gone back to charging the normal price.

While this game is not perfect. I have been thoroughly engaged with it like few other games have ever captivated me (oh and I am NOT a hardcore gamer and yet this game has captured my imagination). In the early days of the game it was a dire survival story where I felt the need to constantly seek food/water while still searching for the much needed resources without become a meal for some other creature higher up on the food chain. Luckily I am past those days now where I have established a base where I can grow my own food and have fish in containment tank. So now I progress into the middle stages of the game where it is time to build the skills and experiences to venture deeper into the depths of the ocean knowing damn well that creatures higher up the food chain will be down there ready to inflict as much terror as they possibly can.

Anyway, its an excellent game well worth trying for those like myself who had never played it before.

    Re: Subnautica

It's been mentioned in passing in a few threads (No Man's Sky mostly, given the similarities). Never had its own thread.

I'd been meaning to try it sometime but I'm just so backlogged (and the Show is not helping to shrink that backlog any). Seems like a fun timesink.

    As for searching.... https://forums.operationsports.com/f...-disabled.html

Yeah I understand "MLB The Show" franchise can be time consuming. Historically I have played that game each year more than any other game. But I didn't pickup 21 this year. I am still using 20. But if you ever get a chance to play Subnautica do it. Not sure if I have what it takes to complete the game (only time will tell) but it really is worth trying.

Oh and thanks for the 411 on the search issues. Makes sense I guess.

I have about 20 hours logged on my steam account for the game. Never finished it but I always want to because it is such a gorgeous game. I tend to keep only about 8 steams games always installed then rotate through others and this is one I have rotated through.

It is always fun when I play and I did see it on the psn store so it made me think about it but I am on a diet of a few games on my PC now. I like to play them when I have an hour before work most mornings because they tend to be more simulation and building games. I will likely add it back into my rotation sometime this summer and pick up where I left off.

I beat it on xbox even though it was a bit laggy loading the world at times...I really enjoyed the game and hoping the Sub Zero one or whatever comes to game pass!

I got this one for free last week (or the week before) as well and now it's firmly entrenched in my backlog directory. [emoji23]

Seriously though, it definitely has the look of a game boasting an alternate universe / reality where you can immerse yourself really deep and hide from the rigors of every-day grind.

The fact that it's the vast ocean / underwater adventure doesn't hurt, either.

Looking forward to playing this game, but when, I have no idea.

All I, taking from this thread is that someone found the game for free and waited for it to be back to normal price for telling us lol Jk
