HELL LET LOOSE (HLL) - PS5

Didn't see post on this. This game has me loving FPS again. Originally PC platform. Which I also play on steam.
1. WW2 Sim/Strategy/Teamwork
2. No cheesy scopes or helpers that didn't exist in ww2.
3. No fast pace jumping around, players feel like heavy with gear.
4. Commander and squad focused
5. Real world battle maps from ww2
6. Maps and graphics/sound excellent
7. Frustrating realistic in good way.
8. Coms are essential, more and more people are getting on coms which will make game better.
9. Proximity chat, squad chat, and command channels.
10. Supply chain and communication are essential.
11. Defending points just as important as attacking, balance is key.
12. Yes Armor and Artillery, each squad member has certain functions.
Can go on and on. Just tired of CoD and BF Arcady stick skill focus.
Strategy and Sim are focus for this shooter.

Played it on PS+ Oct. release and found it's much more realistic than Enlisted which was released prior. Haven't played in awhile with so much going on but I agree with all you said. Game is also multi-platform. I referenced it in the MMO Thread. Maps are huge too.

Also, posted some guides for newbies there to watch on Youtube.

Re: HELL LET LOOSE (HLL) - PS5

I've been playing this a lot on the xsx - They have a strong road-map ahead too. Steep learning curve, but once you get the hang of it - it's very rewarding.

There are many aspects I haven't even touched like commanding etc.

I only have a few issues I'd like changed down the road:

1.no optics other than snipers which may be realistic, but I think 1 other class might benefit from something - anything at all (maybe there were none in WW2) The reason this is sort of a problem is because like many games, you can't adjust the FOV - many games have this problem imo which is this: if you look at a person 20m away from you IRL, you can see them easily, lots of detail - they don't appear "small" in games like HLL figures get small fast because it's like looking through a "wide" lens where things get small fast and that means sometimes it feels like shooting at ants. So FOV/lens or maybe one other class for medium range speacialty

2. in 2022, unless a building is rubble, I want to be able to go inside it, every room. The fact that there are a good deal of buildings you can as well as can't go in is frustrating. a solider could just kick in a door. This is bothersome to me, really hope all interiors can get dynamic and let you in.

3. Performance - all vehicles rubber-band like crazy - there are other hitches and these are beign improved constantly which is great, but that doesn't mean it isn't an issue and it does detract from the experience.

4. tutorials, in a game like this, I think it's pretty important - not only what to do, but how to do it - most of this for a new player yo'd have zero idea and would take hours to find out and even then most of the time you would need yotuube guides.

Other than that, the game is amazing the level of imersiveness and the randomness of combat and love the lack of hud details

Loved it the few times I've played it. Wish I had more time to play. HLL was recently bought out by Team17 for $51m which is good news since the studio has the resources to commit more to the game.

That roadmap you spoke of will bring parity for the consoles with PC before the end of the year which should help with many fixes, and promising that all DLC will be free.

Black Matter Studios has released the Hell Let Loose console roadmap, and even promised that they are aiming for PC content parity before the year is out.

Have any of you tried Post Scriptum? Very similar game. I really prefer PS in nearly every aspect, but HLL is the more populated game. PS is definitely grittier, but in my experience has much more team communication going on.

Just a heads up for any of you HLL players that want another similar game to check out.

Haven't seriously played a FPS in probably over 20 years. Tried this out yesterday and it definitely kicked in some nostalgia.

Not sure if I can stick with however, and here's why:

I was under the impression that there were not many console players active, so I selected cross platform in order to be sure I'd find matches. I quickly came to the realization that controllers stand zero chance against mouse and keyboard (probably with aim assist as well).

Matches were fun, but there just didn't seem to be any balance. I was wondering how they were locking in on me as quick as they were while I struggled to keep my ironsights on ANYTHING.

I'll make one more attempt with cross platform off (Id like to keep ps5 and series x players WITHOUT the PC crowd?). Also, are there matches with aim assist disabled, and is there an option to populate the maps with bots to supplement if there aren't many players?

Just an FYI, there is no cross-play between Pc and console players. Only between Xbox and Playstation players. The number of PS players compared to Xbox maybe skewed due to HLL being a PS+ free monthly give-away. It was one of the reasons I was interested cause I'm aware of your concerns. Not sure if HLL is on Game Pass however.

No CB it doesn't. Strictly 50 vs 50 platoon base online where players communicate in a ultra-realistic FPS.

They have a roadmap which includes something like 'scenarios' it's not clear if that will be single player or not (probably not).

I must say that I keep coming back to this and choose it most nights Im' gaming. I don't really communicate much but people don't seem to mind as I'm either doing what the commander/team lead asks or at least helping the team.

I think they should add some type of proximity ping - they have chat like that OR squad-based and you can choose on the fly, but for peopel like me that don't like to socialize online with random's I'd rather just generically communicate stuff like 'enemies spotted' etc.

looking at the roadmap, there is a lot of cool stuff coming though.
