Re: sifu
I might pick it up but overly difficult games usually aren't my thing. The aging and martial arts has me intrigued though.
Are the levels/stages relatively short? If dying/restarting only sets me back 10 or 20 minutes that's fine. I just don't want that Returnal type thing where you play for two hours die and then have nothing to show for it.

Re: sifu
Every time I see this game (which looks cool, by the way), all I can think about is how awesome it would be if the combat of this game were incorporated into a "Jade Empire" sequel.Comment

Re: sifu
Quite interested but not digging the $40. Will wait for it to be twenty bucks; considerably more intrigued at that price.
From the research I’m doing almost everyone is saying it’s awesome though. The common complaint is a bunch of enemy moves are not telegraphed at all so you have to guess correctly. I don’t like that. That’s the only reason I want it to be $20 instead. Cuz otherwise I’m hearing nothing but good things.Last edited by Detroit Tigers; 02-08-2022, 08:19 PM.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

I might have to get myself a PS5, they're always coming with the great exclusives! This, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsu, etc and so on!!Comment

Re: sifu
Did some more research to get a better picture of how the levels/saving and overall mechanics of combat worked without spoiling anything and decided to give it a go.
So far I'm glad I picked it up. It's hard but it's not unfair. Having to replay an encounter each time has felt more like a learning experience and encourages you to learn your move set and think about how to approach the fight.
Edit: Also i read something about the devs having some free content updates planned so that's cool.

Re: sifu
The 2nd level the difficulty def jumps up and it's where I've been for the last few days. Reading an article on PushSquare the other day apparently the completion rate for level 1 is 57% and for level 2 it drops to 27%
Stated before that I'm not good at difficult games but despite that I'm still enjoying it, as I still feel like I'm not being cheated and am learning better approaches to fights with the biggest thing being learning patience. I can breeze through the first level without dying until i get to the boss. I'm still getting to aggressive in that fight when I get him on the ropes i get sloppy.
Another article i read also said the Devs are planning to add difficulty levels an easier and a harder one. Its a short game if your good so i imagine maybe they'd make it easier by allowing you to restart before a boss otherwise i think it would get too easy. We'll see though.
Still enjoying it and feeling like a martial arts master in some of these fights especially when you get good and ducking and dodging kicks and punches.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 02-13-2022, 12:55 PM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: sifu
Got around to playing this after I rented it on via Gamefly. It was okay for me. I preference that by saying I've never been good at stringing together combos in combat games. It was difficult, but not over the top. My main gripe is that it's shorter than I expected. I've never been the type to just replay levels after beating a campaign. I've always been more of a one and done when I play campaigns. I've never been into high scores, trophies, finding different ways to beat it. Also felt more of a PS4 game.Comment

Re: sifu
Just started this game a few days ago and boy oh boy where people not joking about how this game is hard. I started on normal. By the time I beat the first level I was at age 61 and after dying like 8 times on level 2 I went back to level 1 and even had to lower the difficulty to the lowest. Even on the lowest difficulty I was like age 50 or something by the time I beat the second level. I have no idea how any one could play on the highest and beat the game doesn't seem possible.Comment

Re: sifu
This is easily one of my favorite games on the PS5. If you are concerned about the difficulty, do yourself a favor and play on the 'easier' level and enjoy the experience.
I might have died 10-15 times total on that difficulty.

I improved so significantly playing this game. I was in your shoes too and eventually got to the point where I could beat the game on the level above normal with the good ending (which is even more difficult) while still being in like my 40s. By the time I finished the final battle I felt like Neo when he first figures out the matrix and everything is going in slow motion lol. One of the coolest video game experiences I’ve had in years and it improved my video game skills in general so I was able to return to other difficult games that I had given up on and beat those too.
