PS2 Console Problem.
I recently bought GT4 for my PS2. When I start it up. I hear these clicking noises in my PS2. Than I get this messege that my PS2 can not read the disk. Have any of you experience this problem. If so can you tell me what to do solve it. This will be a great help. Thanks.

The reason for this is that the PS2 was originally designed to read multiple disk formats (PS, PS2 Blue, CD, DVD ROM). What really is happening is the laser pickup is on a motor and it moves up and down. Since each type of disk uses a format it also requires it's own level of laser power to read each disk. Again that's why the laser pickup moves up and down.
When the pickup either gets stuck and won't move or can't move far enough to know whether it's a PS1 or PS2 disk it's impossible not to get "Disk Read Errors". Since this has been a cronic problem Sony has been aware of but has failed to admit. Some have had their PS2's repaired for free by Sony.
My suggestion is to try another copy of Gran Turismo 4. If it still doesn't work call Sony. Ask them in a nice way to have your PS2 serviced for the "infamous" Disk Read Error. Tell them you tried another GT4 and no luck. You will probably get it serviced for free but you'll pay for shipping.
Your other option if you have the money is to buy a PSTwo. Doesn't make much sense if you can get it fixed for free.
How do I know all of this? Let's just say I used to work in tech support for a certain company.Comment
