Should be a strong video game year. Of course I said that about 2022 as well and then all of the games that I was most excited about were pushed back. So, hopefully most of these are able to keep their 2023 release schedules.

The games that really caught my attention are:

-I'm sure that the Horizon Forbidden West will be great. One of my favorite franchises at this point.

-After Us looks really interesting. I like the visual style, and it just looks like something that could be a lot of fun even though it isn't the type of game that I would normally play.

-Atomic Heart looks like one of those games that will be pure adrenaline and joy as long as the gunplay is solid.

-Animal Party; this one gives me Naughty Bear vibes. Looks like it could be entertaining, but party play games can be hard to sustain. I'm still hoping to get some people together to play it when it comes out though.

-Star Wars Jedi Survivor....yes please.

-Forspoken has been one of my most anticipated games ever since it was originally announced. Story looks interesting, graphics look great, gameplay looks fun. Can't wait.

-Diablo IV, really just an obligatory mention. I loved D2 and I have gone back to D3 more times than I care to admit. I have no faith in Blizzard and their monetization at this point though, and there are few mtx schemes that I will accept for a $70 game.

-Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden really caught my eye. Story wise it reminds me a bit of the Witcher, at least as far as the trailer shows us with a "banisher" hunting down some kind of ghosts. I'm guessing this ends up being a 2024 release though since it says "late 2023".

-Baldurs Gate 3, I've been waiting to get this forever. I couldn't bring myself to buy the early access knowing that I'd just end up playing through the first parts of the game all over again. Looks great even though cRPGs really aren't my thing.

-Super excited for a new Armored Core game. Mechs are just fun

-Final Fantasy 16 cinematics are great, but I'm not a fan of the direction of the series. I'll hope that the game is good enough to overcome that disappointment, but my expectation is that I just have to come to terms with the fact that this series has left me.

-Not much to say on these as they all look to be a ways off, but I'm very excited about Judas, Nightingale, and Lords of the Fallen. All look to have the potential to be great.

-Transformers, incredible graphics. Hopefully it offers a lengthy enough campaign.

-Crimeboss...there is like no way that this game isn't great right?

-Wildhearts looks like Monster Hunter with more charming environments.

The 10 games above are those that are day one or at the very least, of interest to me. 2023 should be an excellent year.

On a side note, Wild Hearts is releasing February 17th, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
