With the latest patch update release, I decided to fire up the game on the PS4. I've enjoyed playing RTS games at my desk in the past. The patch doesn't address my biggest issues which are the missions where stamina/stress would have to sometimes force you to replay it. That's an area I don't want to go too. However, I'll most likely play out the early parts of the game knowing that once on the ground that's where I'll stop and wait.

If your an Aliens fan, this game has it all since Alien Isolation. Loving it, just get that stress patch out quickly! Oh, and I decided to play it on Custom difficulty with Enemy Health Easy, Everything else Medium, and Lots of Save points lol

Are you guys having issues using a controller to play? Do you think they streamlined the control scheme enough for a controller or is it better played with a mouse/keyboard? Have not picked it up yet..

No issues at all. I'm using the PS4 Dualshock 4. If there is a complaint, there's no way to do custom edits.

Aliens Dark Descent Update 1.04 released Aug 1 on all consoles and PC, and there's many major and minor fixes made. Too many to list. Also wanted to add that I learned if you purchased the PS4 game, you can download that version on the PS5 if you wish, and continue your progress there.

Besides October having the Sports Equinox, another great feature is playing horror games leading right into Halloween night. One game is soon to start, and another on release-day watch. So I started again Aliens DD last night. Just for kicks I tried the game on the PS5 just so I can note any differences since I had started it prior on the PS4. Well, once I noticed the load speed, the graphics and performance upgrades, and watching all the early cinematic scenes play out on my 65-inch OLED TV, it was safe to say I just stayed there

Let the Halloween Games Begin Some of my early impressions.;


<b>PRO's</b>
<ul>
<li> Tindalos Interactive in collaboration with Disney's 20th Century Games gives you a licensed Aliens game with all the sounds, music, space, and at times, a cheesy-liner that we loved so much from the Aliens' movies. Some of the scenes play out spectacularly as you get involved in the story quickly.</li>
<li>Game is difficult. Even playing on a custom slider set with the Xenomorphs on Easy, I was able to only complete 4/14 assignments in my first mission. My marines took a beating as I lost Smith,(who was carried most of the time), while the remaining three were badly wounded and rescued.</li>
<li>Game gives you that terror feeling as you move through corridors</li>
<li>The Pause or Slow action. Naturally, the higher the difficult the non-existent it becomes</li>
<li>Squad based decisions you make are life and death situations</li></ul>

<b>CON's</b>
<ul>
<li>Even though it's in Unreal engine, thought the character face models were disappointing.</li>
<li>The voice-acting and acting itself does get better however, its initial first impressions are poor, or B-rated. </li>
<li>Wish I could get the camera level closer to the action. Having the camera player-sight level in, and bringing the battle closer was a missed opportunity. </li>
<li>Stress levels may sometimes still get bugged and stuck</li></ul>

Whenever I read how people finish their games it fascinates me. That's because for me, it seems like life always gets in the way lol. Started this month on jury duty, then getting assigned to a case that lasted 2-weeks. Then, reminded by my wife that our hardwood floors would be refinished which caused all kinds of everyday life chaos! So now, with everything back in place, I'm going to finish this game! I'm about 50% into my 2nd mission. Yeah, I'm hooked in

Aliens: Dark Descent November 22 Update Patch Notes:

Hi everyone,

Thanks to your feedback, we worked on a hotfix to resolve the issue regarding your missing marines when launching a New Game + campaign. We are sorry for the inconvenience and hope you’ll have a great time facing the new difficulty parameters we brought for you in the last update.

You should now properly get your marines when creating a NG+ campaign using a save created before the release of the New Game + Update but please note that in some cases the experience won during the Mission 11 Olduvai Dig Site will not be saved. If you want to be sure to have your marines with the experience gained during that mission please follow those steps:

<li>Load your last Otago save or your last Olduvai Dig Site (Mission 11) save
<li>Complete the mission 12: Redemption
<li>Go back to the main menu</li>

Disclaimer: This hotfix is aiming players creating New Game + campaigns based on campaign saves that were created before the release of the New Game + update. For the players that already created a NG+ campaign and have some marines missing, you will need to create a new NG+ campaign if you want to get back all your marines. We are once again sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm wondering has anyone finished this yet? Whether PC, PS, or Xbox? I'm asking because I find the difficulty insane even in its easiest settings.

My history with this game is I started it when released. First on the PS4, which I preferred since it was a squad-base game and a more comfortable environment for me to play, sitting at my desk, in my office. After a couple of chapters, I was no longer able to play due to the random shut down of my PS4 because of the processing power from the game. It was unable to handle the game's cinematics. So, I transferred all PS4 files over to the PS5 and was able to proceed with the game. Unfortunately, for Aliens, this game was effected due to the other games that I play more on the main TV. Yeah, it doesn't play much compared to my top games.

Recently, I've started again since football and basketball are in now hiatus. However, frustrations still exist. Even in it's easiest difficulty, I'm getting my head handed to me. There's word that on normal, you don't get the amount of hordes attacking which doesn't make much sense. I just feel I'm making poor decisions in the field. So yes, I'm going to;
