Re: Jedi Survivor
Some of the level designs are annoying. Too much wall running and acrobatic BS just to go across a room. Spend way more time doing those things then actually fighting enemies. Other then that, the game is pretty good looking, especially the cut scenes. The map is straight forward most of the time. A few times though it isn't.Comment

Re: Jedi Survivor
Okay as it currently stands, I am giving this game a 4 out of 10. End of the game, came across a bug where something suppose to move and it isn't moving. So now I am just stuck that because that is the way you have to go. Honestly the level design in this game is bad. Way too much wall running, jumping, climbing just to go somewhere. You been about 98% of the game doing that BS with only 2% actually fighting somebody. This isn't the 1st bug either, this is the second bug I found near the end of the game.
1st bug you literally had to reset the game and do all that BS traveling again to get back to where you already was at. This is ridiculous. Like I am literally near the end but a bug is preventing me from getting there. I am not the only one online experiencing this bug either.
Also after the patch, the game stutters quite a bit now. And sometimes the controls stop working. That patch broke more things then it suppose to have fixed.Last edited by Gotmadskillzson; 05-02-2023, 05:10 PM.Comment

Right, I’m trying to figure out if this is actually a Star Wars game or an R and D test bed for a new tomb raider game 😂!Comment

I mean this out of legitimate curiosity, not trying to be a jerk…did you play the first game? That game also had a lot of wall running and other Tomb Raider stuff. It was pretty much the whole point of the game. I’m just asking in case it’s something you weren’t expecting or if it’s just a lot more of it than the original.

Re: Jedi Survivor
Okay game beaten, in order to get passed that bug, I had to restart the game and redo a good section of the level, which sucked. With that said, I give the game a 5 out of 10 now. This is the PC version. That patch made the game worse. It is just a glitchy stuttery mess now. And for some reason at random times your controller input just completely stops working and your character just spazzes out running in a straight line with it's body turned the opposite way but head turned around. And when the character reaches a boundary, it just slides to the left or right along the boundary. If there is nothing there, you literally fall off a platform to your death.
Now not only did this happen in random parts throughout the game during a level, but also during the last 3 boss fights in the game. Graphically before the patch, the game looked good. After the patch, they lowered the quality some. Still look good, but you can tell it don't look as good as it did before the patch. IMO if you take away these long levels of wall running, jumping and climbing, you are left with a 4 hour game worth of story. The other 20 to 25 hours you spend wall running, jumping and climbing.
Like seriously, you can see where you need to go. But instead of having you go in a straight line or even a semi straight line, this game makes you go 5 or more levels up worth of climbing and wall running, then down 5 or more levels just to get to the other side of a DOOR. That is the main problem with this game. It is always a door that is locked from the other side, so you have to do all that parkour BS just to get to the other side of it. Or it will be an elevator isn't working and for some reason, you can't call it back down. So let us make you wall run, jump and climb for an hour or 2 to get to the top where you can then access the elevator, just for you can ride it back down a few floors to proceed. The design is just stupid.
And the deeper you get into the game, the longer the levels are. It is like, I am a Jedi, why can't I just use my powers to open the door with force ? Combat is good even though Cal the guy you play as feels like he has no weight to him what so ever. Just floaty, like he isn't really connected to the ground. Which at times bite you in the butt when you get close to an edge and his floatiness causes you to fall off somewhere to your death.
I just wish it was more actual combat. You barely get to fight and when you do, it goes by so fast until you make it near the last 10% of the game where you finally face enemies that can hold their own against you. Next game need to be fighting focused. They really need to lose all that wall running, jumping and climbing.
Speaking of fighting though, one giant gripe I have about Cal:
SpoilerCal is a weak Jedi. Like my man be getting his butt kicked the last 10% of the game. Dagan kicked his butt,TWICE. Ravin kicked his butt. Hell even Bode kicked his butt.
Also it was nice near the end:
SpoilerWhen Darth Vader showed up and you got to fight him as Cere.
But yeah, overall, for me, 5 out of 10. Not worth $70 unless you are a diehard Star Wars fan. I have EA Pro so it was a free PC download for me. Game feels rushed, like they should have delayed it another year. Got it optimized and made more storyline.
Also one final gripe, I hate the fact on PC everytime you start a game, you have to sit and wait for almost a full minute to play it because it always have to optimize game files. That is really annoying.Comment

Re: Jedi Survivor
It’s too bad about the performance on pc. I feel like this would be an instant classic for me if I wasn’t dealing with the framerate cratering on a just frequently enough basis. The shader stutter is worse than the average game as well… Makes you wonder what that stupid performance enhancement process is doing on every start up.
I had a month of EA Play Pro already going, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered, but damn this game is fun when running properly. If you liked Fallen Order, Survivor is better is every way.
I’m currently messing around with a mod that uses reshade to get DLSS frame gen working with the in game FSR, and it’s really promising. Worked nearly flawlessly for me last night and it almost doubled my frame rates with ray tracing and everything else maxed. With a little tweaking and hopefully some more patching I really think it will be one of the best games of the year. Now, more than everComment

Re: Jedi Survivor
EA long been had a problem with their big releases for the past decade now. Anthem, Mass Effect Andromeda all had problems. Makes zero sense considering EA has the money for additional QA testers if need be. No game should be released like this, especially not a well known franchise game from a big company.
But a read an article where the creative director didn't want to delay the game again, even though people knew it should have been. For me this game was wasted potential. They could have done so much more with it. Also the story felt like they just skipped huge chunks.Comment

Re: Jedi Survivor
I’m probably going to bite the bullet and buy the game next weekend since I have a day off Friday and will have some time to dig into the game. I’m definitely reluctant because of the PC performance issues, so keeping my fingers crossed there’s another patch soon.
If it wasn’t a Star Wars game, there’s no way I’d buy it. I was burned by Madden 20, which was released with terrible performance issues on PC and never properly patched. I’ll never buy another Madden after that.

Re: Jedi Survivor
My son beat the game on PS5, hardest difficulty in 23-24 hours. He really enjoyed it. I haven’t had much time with the game yet. Just did the opening area and have moved onto the first world.
I like how you can redo the skill tree but I hate the fact you only get one free do over. Then it costs you.Comment

Aside from the minor glitching issues but yeah, I’ve been enjoying this one a lot. My type of game tbh#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Jedi Survivor
I’m really enjoying it as well. PC performance has been pretty good after a few adjustments. Probably the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. My main problem is finding time to play it.

Re: Jedi Survivor
There’s a DLSS and frame gen mod working now on PC. You need a Patreon sub to access the download, but it’s well worth it if you have a 40 series card.

Re: Jedi Survivor
I think I may be close to the end as I'm currently in the battle where DaganSpoilersplits into three.
Overall, not really impressed. I'm finding myself forcing my way through, and not very excited while I'm doing it. The tomb raider vibe is becoming more annoying as I go along and I just can't imagine a Jedi having to do all of that lol.
You guys remember the movie (the one with Darth Maul), where Obi Wan and his Jedi Master were in the ship and used their light sabers to melt through the reinforced door? Well, every time I came to a door "that has to be opened from the other side", I kept getting p@@sed off that this "Jedi" couldn't simply melt through the door, and that I knew I was about to be forced to take the scenic parkour route which slowly eroded my tolerance level. I'm like, dude you are NOT worthy of the title Jedi, and I mean NOWHERE close lol.
I give it a 5/10.
Standing by for the next KOTOR to do justice to the Star Wars name on current gen consoles.Comment
