    You should be good the patch dropped earlier early in the afternoon as far as I can tell.

      Is there a lot of stuff to do in the game? Meaning main missions, side missions, etc.

        There is a lot to do. Main missions, side missions, different factions you can join.

              Having a lot of fun with this so far. Kay is a good protag and Nix is a great sidekick. I spend a lot of time just wandering around listening to conversations. Had to give photo mode a go.191a66a70b885-screenshotUrl.jpeg

                Am I playing a different game than everyone else? I’m feeling like I’m in bizarro world right now folks lol. The NPCs are the biggest issue when it comes to the atmosphere (lack there of) in the game. I read you guys post yesterday and specifically walked around Toshara to see if I was just drunk the first time I played and didn’t pick up on what you guys are talking about. The NPCs do not react to Kay at ALL, and they surely are not having any conversations, they’re static background pieces. I finally ran across some storm troopers that react to Kay and that was it!

                  Okay I finally have time to reply to you, lol.

                  I'm unsure what's totally happening in your game, or if you're expecting RDR2 sequences with NPC?? They absolutely talk, kind of react, and walk through the game. Thr atmosphere of the game is something that I am totally enjoying!

                      I'm off to get my copy, as well as other things to start this holiday weekend. Although I haven't the game yet, I'm curious regarding the NPCs discussion on few items.

                      Kingsotv, Just curious, when you started, how did you select?

                      Also, found this for the more engaged info about NPCs I didn't know about.

                      <b>How to unlock all experts and abilities in Star Wars Outlaws</b>

                      Our Star Wars Outlaws experts and abilities guide is organized based on when we encountered these characters during our playthrough. Do note that you can travel to three other planets after leaving Toshara, which means the chronological order in which you meet these allies might differ.

                      As an aside, here are some tidbits to remember once you recruit experts:

                      <li>The Star Wars Outlaws expert NPCs all appear in the "Abilities" menu.
                      <li>Their portraits won't be revealed by default since you need to gather intel as to their whereabouts. Clues tend to appear automatically as you progress through the game.</li>

                        I can't even recall honestly. As far as the NPC discussion is going, I suppose I was expecting an open open world if that makes sense. If you're expecting RDR, GTA, or any of the other open world titles where you can interact with any and everything, this isn't it. You will not get into random blaster battles, skirmishes in cantinas, problems with the Empire from something you did on the street, etc. I suppose those things can happen but it will be scripted if it does. Overall, its a decent game, just a bit dated when it comes to the aforementioned. Its like open world but still on rails at the same time.

                          I asked because maybe you selected a story type mode? You can check and change it if you want.

                          Have my game and ready to play tonight after the game and install. I'm guessing my 1st decision will be which difficulty mode to select

                          There are 4 difficulty modes in Star Wars Outlaws and they all offer a very different gaming experience. We recommend that you choose it according to your expectations (Story mode for example if you just want to enjoy the storyline). For comparison, Outlaws is much easier than Jedi Survivor but can quickly become frustrating in infiltration missions.

                          <ul>
                          <b><li>Story Mode: </b>Perfect if you just want to follow the main storyline and its beautiful cutscenes, without worrying about enemies
                          <b><li>Adventurer Mode:</b> A sort of normal mode that is a perfect mix between a serene adventure with a few well-measured fights.
                          <b><li>Outlaw Mode: </b>A difficult mode with many challenges,
                          <b><li>Vaurien Mode:</b> An Extreme Mode</li>
                          The difficulty mode mainly affects the strength of enemies, the number of enemies encountered, the amount of damage received and how quickly health drops, the speed at which Kay can be “searched” or the precision required to succeed in hacking, unlocking and eating mini-games with Nix.
                          </ul>

                            Sounds like you just expected a different type of open world experience. Nothing wrong with being disappointed in that. RDR and GTA are massive titles though both have massive script and built for random encounters. I forgot the number of dialog lines they had mentioned but it was a lot way more than you'd see in most games or even Hollywood scripts. Same with games like the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.

                            This is closer to the Yakuza games and its spinoffs as far as NPCs go. You can talk to a few you'll hear random convos but not really interacting with the majority of NPCs. In a universe of the empire, weird alien beings of all sorts, thieves and random folks most people probably wouldn't give a second thought to what Kay and Nix are doing.

                            Hopefully you can find a way to enjoy it since you spent your money already.

                              Finally, someone gets what I’m talking about lol!!! Well said. The Yakuza comparison was perfect (I actually went with on a binge of that series a few months ago). Yes, I was expecting a vast open dynamic world which this is not, it’s cool, all is well. I’ll continue to play and see how long it holds my attention even though I’ve already been spoiled by the GTAs and Read Dead’s ! I do enjoy the gunplay (the feel and sound is Star Wars to a T), that alone may keep me going!

                                Going to try to do a no fast travel playthrough. I like just walking around areas so far. The maps aren't terribly big and the open spaces you get the speeder so I think it's doable. I used to just walk around the map when playing Division 2 because I'd always notice some small new detail.
