Released today. Thinking of picking it up since ive been pretty disappointed with the content in MK1. Never really played Tekken, seems really deep and hard to pick up. Anyone playing it?

I thought about pre-ordering, but decided to wait for a sale. All of the reviews I've seen so far have been great.

I love Tekken 7. Probably my favorite fighting game ever and I still play it from time to time. Although I don't play online since I largely suck at fighting games. One of the controller schemes made for easy combos. I assume it's still that way in 8. So it's one of those fighting games you can pick up and play pretty easily, but can take time to really master.

I picked it up, im having a pretty fun time. Yes the easy schemes are in 8, and i like how you can go back and forth mid match just by simply hitting a button. Im still trying to find my main, I've never really played Tekken before. Right now im gravitating to Law or Raven.

Sheesh, I lost interest in Tekken, DOA, and Soul Caliber a loooong time ago in a galaxy far far away lol. Had to be what, two console generations ago lol. Whatever happened to DOA by the way?

DOA5 was really good. DOA6 was a clear money grab, flopped and now the series is apparently on hold.

Friend of mine and I have been playing Tekken since Tekken 2 and I'm loving it so far. He wanted to play it on PS5 since he likes that controller better than the Xbox so I bought a PS5 and Tekken 8.

Man I can really tell how age has changed playing this game for sure, one of my main characters has always been King, I knew all his combos, his multi-throws and breaks when I was younger.

Now at 52 I'm like how the hell did I remember all that, have a hard time actually doing some of his throws now. Lol He has 197 moves in his move list, don't see myself getting many of those down pat these days but I'm having fun with it.

Officially a Jun main lol. I do want to try a few others, but i think she chose me, and I'm now up to Ranger Rank (I know its not high but its my first Tekken game and still learning) with a 72% win percentage with her.

I’m trying to hold out until it goes on sale, but I really want to play this. May pop in T7 tonight to try to scratch that itch (for now).

I’m hoping Eliza comes back as DLC down the line.

What are you playing on? You can pick up the reg edition on PC for around $50 on some sites.

After playing and grinding this game, i change my tone on the simple controls..absolutely hate playing against it and people who just spam it.

Edit - Finally hit yellow ranks! Just a lonely Warrior, but feels good lol, except when i lose now i lose points and can get demoted.

I really need to hit the lab again. I'm at the point where I've reached red ranks and now everyone is super good and knows all the tech and frame traps etc and now I'm stuck between being demoted to orange and back to red. Just going back and forth. Not sure if i can progress much further w/o really studying now and labbing, probably have to learn new strings and plays now too.

I don't play Tekken myself but I love the battles between the Korean and Pakistani players. They are really good.
