Demo is out now, I didn't go into it with a lot of expectations but it really exceeded them and I can't wait for this game to come out now. Anyone else messing with it?

Re: Stellar Blade (PS5)
Ya know what?!?! Enough is enough, I'm getting a PS5. Series X and to an extent PC just don't hold a candle to the PS5 exclusives, ZERO comparison lol. -

Re: Stellar Blade (PS5)
I played through the Stellar Blade demo twice and it's great. Combat/gameplay feels smooth, fluid and responsive. Visuals look great, audio especially the soundtrack is Nier Automata levels and I love the setup of the world, the platforming, hidden chests and enemy designs are nuts.
Since I will be off from work between the 26th-28th, I will be buying the $80 edition of Stellar Blade day one on PSN. Hyped!!Comment

Re: Stellar Blade (PS5)
I didn't play the demo, but I picked it up after hearing about it.
Combat is a bit more difficult than I expected, but it is still fun. I haven't experienced any frame drops during heavy combat either. I'm still early on, but I like it so far.Comment

Re: Stellar Blade (PS5)
Completed Stellar Blade a week ago. Played on story mode. About 80 hours to do pretty much everything on my first play-through.
Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Audio - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Gameplay/Combat - 10/10 (superb)
Story/Characters - 8.0/10 (great)
Overall - 9.0/10 (excellent)
The highlight is the combat and gameplay. It's just so damn good. Always feel like you're progressing with new skills and moves. The loop is excellent as is the game design and level design. The two big open areas are my least favorite but they're great for exploring and seeing what stuff is hidden and stashed about. I liked the story and characters. It's not amazing but I enjoyed and it kept me interested all the way through the game. Visuals are excellent. Not at the level of GOWR, HFW or Avatar but still, a great looking game. Enemy designs are the highlight. Boss fights are insane. Voice acting is solid and the soundtrack is excellent. I do wish there was two or three songs on loop during the two big open areas but other than that, no issues.
I did play new game plus which opens up a few more skills and stuff which was fun to get them all. I did a speed run on normal for the second play through since I had 39/45 trophies and am going for the platinum which I never do. lol
Started a third play through where im playing like I did on my first play through as I need to make sure I do certain things in order to get the ending I haven't unlocked yet which will give me the platinum trophy. Playing on hard mode for the linear levels but normal mode for the two open areas since there's a lot more enemies and I don't want it taking forever for me to accomplish what im trying to do.
About 108 hours total play time thus far. Absolutely loving this game which is obvious since I rarely replay games and almost never replay a game right after completing it. Out of almost 50 completed games this generation, my only replay in general and back to back to back was Outriders three years ago. Otherwise, every game is a one and done excluding expansions and DLC.
Hoping for a sequel and this series to be a trilogy.Comment

Re: Stellar Blade (PS5)
Just finished this today. Spent my entire day closing out my playthrough. What a game, decent story, good soundtrack, characters and its visually amazing. Enemy design, is also great. The parry dodge timing would be my only negative as it's timing is a bit different from other games.
I'd say about 70% of my playthrough was on normal and the other 30% story difficulty. Story mode is actually still pretty tough.
About halfway through today's run I realized what made it click for me. It doesn't shy away from being a game. Sci-fi setting aside, there are many things that are straight up video game logic and I love it. Double jumping, crazy finishers, kick open a crate brightly colored shiny things pop out and they just get collected, "skating" hundreds of feet down a long tube avoiding obstacles let's go. As much as I love a grounded story and gameplay a la RDR2 or TLoU, not everything needs to be that.
I don't usually do NG+ or try and find all the collectibles but this game has earned it.
Stellar Blade was a stellar game. I give it a 9/10.
