I have been playing this game for a few days now.
It's a F2P Arena Shooter which steals ideas from a lot of other FPS with modes that mirror Domination, Hardpoint, etc. from COD and then there's the transport game mode like you would see in Overwatch, Paladins, etc. The hero characters and maps are based on Ubisoft games such as Splinter Cell (RIP), The Division, Watch Dogs, etc. There is also no SBMM so there's a lot more variety in the types of games you see opposed to being paired based solely on skill.
I don't think anything can kill COD because they have such a stranglehold on the market but there's a lot to like about this game for me. I think the movement is a lot better than the most recent COD games. Out of the box it handles really good and there's a lot of controller customizability. There's still some polish needed ironing out cross play hurdles but overall a good experience for something that is free. I have seen a little bit of rubber banding and server instability and with input method matchmaking on I will get paired with some guys obviously using mouse and keyboard but otherwise good.
I'm going to continue on and see what I can get out of it without spending any additional money but overall a good experience.
