    Concord

New team based shooter called Concord is set to release on PS and Steam in August.

Overwatch (I mean Concord) is a 5v5 PvP FPS featuring different game modes and classes.

The standard edition price is $40. The Deluxe Edition is $60 and includes 3 days of early access and some skins. All future DLC (maps and heroes) will be free.

Preorders are now live, and it gives you access to the July beta along with 4 extra beta codes to give to your friends.

A lot of negative reaction that I have seen in the comments. Which is surprising to me because Overwatch was such a popular game and this is a straight up re-skin. Blizzard has abandoned their original promises with that game, but this one is picking it back up with the promise of "buy our game and all future non-cosmetic content will be free".

    Re: Concord

Oh no, a live service game that obsessively relies on metrics like concurrent player counts, and people playing the game every hour of every day for as long as possible, in order to be seen as successful has failed. It's almost like the market for these games has become stupidly oversatured, and throwing big money at games like this is the ultimate Russian roulette of game development.

This game cost around $100M to make, and they are refunding all of the sales because low player count has made the game completely worthless and now defunct. Maybe make less games that are completely tied to always-online always-playing right now gamers, and more that are standalone products that could potentially still have value way way down the road... Please?

Refunding sounds like its going to PS+ fast. Just think, it took 8 years to make. What a disaster.

This has got to be the biggest gaming failure in history. Never seen a game get pulled in less than 2 weeks

The sad thing is is that there's also an episode on this coming from that Secret Level show in December.
              Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).

The dye has already been cast. I don't think you can save a brand new IP when it's been rejected like this. More people would play it, but going through the process of refunding and then relaunching something this quick would be kind of crazy.

Plus, this game wasn't built on a battlepass type of monetization system. There were some cosmetic things, but I think the framework of the game was definitely relying on the game's purchase price to a large extent. And that funding (or lack thereof) ruined all their future plans for the game.
