    Bought a DC, need suggestions

    Hey All,

Well as I was checking out my local EB Games I noticed the DC case and figured I would ask them if they had any in. The employee came back and said they just got a shipment of some pre-owned ones (obviously) for the first time in about a year, only $20 a pop. Anyways long story short I got a Dreamcast, Extra Controller, Crazy Taxi, 6 month warranty and a memory card all for $39. But now the problem is I need games for it so I wondered what you guys would suggest...I like arcadish games, FPS games, some RPG's adventures and I like most racing games. So far here is my list -

    Virtua Tennis ($5)
    Crazy Taxi 2 ($10)
    Tee Off (maybe...$5)
    Test Drive 6 (maybe...$5)
    Worms Armageddon ($8)
    Sega GT (maybe...$5)
    THPS 2 ($5)
NCAA College Football 2k2 (just for fun, so I have a college football game...is it a good game?...$5)
    Daytona USA (probably not...$10)
    Rogue Spear (maybe...$8)
    Soul Calibur (definately...$10)
    Silent Scope (maybe...$5)
    Soldier of Fortune (probably not...$10)
    Unreal Tournament (without a doubt...$5)

Before someone calls me rich, keep in mind 1. There is only 7 games I will definately get and 2. The most expensive game on that list is $10. And even if I did get all those games it would total out to be about $96 (for 14 games, pretty good) but anyways if anyone could give me some feedback on any of the above games or if you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
    Lifelong Bengals and Buckeyes fan...yeah...

Soul Calibur, NBA2k Series, Virtua Tennis, and the Tony Hawk's are ALL great buys. There are more, too, that other people will know and remember.

Soul Calibur still sells in the $50 range, so I would count that out.

I remember playing the Dreamcast and really enjoying the Sonic Adventure games.

Also, there was this one game with R/C cars and it had a built-in course creator. I think it was called ReVolt or something.

From your list, I'd say definitely go with THPS, Unreal Tournament (though my judgement on this is from the computer version), and Sega GT.

                    Px:

Great call on buying a DC. Pound for pound, still the best console I've ever owned. So far ahead of its time.

I would concentrate on the "Sega specials" or games that were DC exclusives or close to it. Why play Tony Hawk on the DC when you've probably played it on a zillion other systems?

From your list, I would go with:

                    Virtua Tennis ($5)
                    Crazy Taxi 2 ($10)
                    Daytona USA (probably not...$10)
                    Soul Calibur (definately...$10)

Jet Grind Radio is a fantastic game, too. If you're into racing games, you can't beat Vanishing Point or F355. Test Drive Le Mans was phenomenal, too. Looney Tunes Space Race is one of the best kart-style racers I've ever played, too. Seriously. Tokyo Xtreme Racer and Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 are fun, too.

The Sega Marine Fishing and Sega Bass Fishing games are good, mindless fun. Ultimate Fighting Championship is a kick-azz game. Ecco the Dolphin is a very cool chill-out game. Quake III is a fantastic shooter, while the original Shenmue is cool.

So many great games, such a great system. Have fun with it!

                    Take care,
                    PK

You have a good list to pick from there. I agree with PK that Jet Grind Radio was a great game. It isn't my type of game but I got it as a gift and ended up loving it. It was a unique game(at least for me). I was also a big fan of Metropolis Street Racer(MSR). Although it is somewhat basic compared to today's racers, I really had a good time with that one. Man....I really miss my DC.
