What was the longest period(if ever) you went completely "gameless"?

After getting rid of my gamecube and xbox today, rendering me without a system of any kind or era, this question crossed my mind. Although I had good games that I liked, I just never felt the "urge" to play anymore, especially with my time being so limited with school, work, fitness, and social activities. I'm actually planning, for the first time, to go without a system until well into the next generation, if that. Before, I'd always had SOMETHING, and If I did get rid of a system, it was always in preparation of buying another within the week. My gaming time was almost nonexistant. To wit:

Halo 2? Purchased on release day, played less than 10 times.

NBA 2K5? Less than 25 games.

2K5 College Basketball? Less than 5 games.

Splinter Cell? Played ONCE, even though I bought it last June.

When I took a long look at it, I said to myself, why am I wasting my money on something I never(barely) use? I couldn't justify it. So I just had to get rid of it while it still had some value.

Any one else feel like me or starting to feel like me(I realize it's funny to be asking this on a gaming site)? Has gaming time been displaced by other voluntary activities? Or are you one of those types who will always "make" time for gaming?

And, what's the longest you have gone without ANY type of system?
I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

Oversimplification is the escape of men who want to avoid the duty demanded by true understanding.

I can't remember the longest since I've always seemed to have some kind of system around to take away my time. I don't feel like gaming is starting to wear thin on me but if I don't have a chance to play a game I don't care as much as I used to.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I got grounded from my dreamcast when I was in 7th or 8th grade. My grades were not what I was capable of so my parents told me to say good bye to it. Probably didnt game for 3 months.

My longest time was a whole semester. During my last semester of college I sold my ps2 because I was spending too much time gaming and not enough studying. As soon as I walked across that stage in May, I bought an Xbox. Then, I sold my Xbox about a month ago because I was in the same boat as you but I've never been the type to do a whole lot socially. I'm not into the club scene and I normally just kick it with my friends so I needed something to do in my free time. By free I mean, not a work, school, hanging out or walking. Had my ps2 about 2 weeks now.

I've gone a couple years when in college...I didn't have the money for a PS2, so just didn't have a console for a while...once in a while I'd play a friend in NCAA or something, but that's about it

I cannot even remember a time when I was without a console. I had three older brothers and the family had an Atari 2600. Ever since then I have always had a console and usually multiple

Umm...I think about 4 years. From the time I was born until I was about 4. Ever since then I've had a system.
