I just recently bought a new slim ps2 and its great, but I mean its does the same functions a regular ps2 would. I depends on how old your ps2 is if you have had it for a while then I defiently would. Really the only problem for the small one is it gets hot real fast because it only has a small fan, but its not a major proble,

are you in the need of an extra 3 inches of space? if not then just stick with what you got. it does the exact same thing.

Unles your old model is on the verge of a complete breakdown, i highly recommend AGAINST trading for a slim PS2. For one, and I can't confirm this, I believe people have been having trouble getting the AR/Max Drive/X-Port to work with it, which is really important if you are into DLing rosters from the net.

My Sharkport didn't work with the new PS2, but the Max Drive (at least the most recent iteration) does in fact work.

I WHOLLY recommend getting the slim PS2 . . . it is far superior to the old PS2.

I just bought a slim ps2 about 2 weeks ago and enjoy it. GTA: San Andreas has been occupying a lot of my time.

However, if you're deciding between an old ps2 and slim ps2, I'd say stick with the old one. The new slim ps2 is just what it says it is - slim. It does the same things as the old one, it's just much smaller.

            There's my advice to ya.

If by wholly superior you mean slighlty thinner then yes, it is wholly superior.
