The following image is one that was leaked back in September:



"FS" reportedly stood for F*** Sony, so many people laughed off this image.

Just wanted to throw in my own "UGH!" Damn, that would be 2 for 2 for MS with ugly looking consoles. But of course, the blind loyalists won't care.

Let's hope it's more like the first picture!

Doesn't have anything to do with being a loyalist but rather how the system plays. If Maytag released a Washer Drier that played the best games ever I would probably buy it. What's the facination with how "cool" a system looks if
it plays great.
It could be the size of a Beta player but if the games are great and XBOX Live stays as great as it is I'll gladly build a shelf just for it.

The new PS2Slim shows Sony could have made theirs smaller also.

That xbox2 is pretty damn ugly though. I didn't think that there was anything wrong with the first one. I really hope that that isn't what it really looks like.

I dont know what the deal is with the round handle looking thing on the smaller version. If that is just there for design then that's just awful. If that is the one with no HD then I would never consider getting it anyway. Obviously, the one with the HD is going to have some bulk to it. Its not a big issue for me though. What console I get next gen, and I am still condering none as a possibility, will not be affected by how it looks.

The new PS2Slim shows Sony could have made theirs smaller also.

I think that might be because of advancements in technology. Getting the same performance out of hardware that is half the size. It has been several years since the original PS2 came out. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.

Back to the size:
It's easier to be smaller when you don't have everything included like a HD and 4 player support.
Lets try and compare apples to apples.

I'm not saying the XBOX360 is pretty or ugly. My main point is what's the difference if it plays great and has great games?
In any case I'll have the PS3 and XBOX360 and whatever the Nintendo version is if they all are solid systems.

It's easier to be smaller when you don't have everything included like a HD and 4 player support.

If size wasn't an issue, people wouldn't care, but they do. Who cares if a stereo system has speakers 6 feet tall and is 3 feet wide. Especially when you can get an equally good sound system that's very small, almost portable.

.....Can only be applied if BOTH systems have the same songs etc. The PS2 and XBOX each offer great games. If they both offered the same things: Games, accesories and Online play then yet I could then go with what's the prettiest. Until then I could care less about what they look like.

Anyways lets move on I know what you're saying and I hope you see where I'm coming from.
Bottom line is I'm very excited about all the new upcoming systems.

You know I never really though about it but you're right. I have had to replace both the PS2 and XBOX but with the CUBE I have has had zero problems, go figure.
