wireless gaming

Fixing to go to wireless when I move into a new house just wanted to know with wireless does anyone know from experience if you still have a smooth gaming connection or is it better to stay with cat 5?

wired will probably always be better and more reliable, but i switched to wireless in my apartment about a year ago and didn't notice any difference. You may want to get a wireless "G" router. they are faster than "B".

I have wireless B and still have zero problems. I've been wireless for about 3 years now. I would and could never go back to wired. I can't notice any difference plus I can host 12-16 on GR2 and not a hint of lag. So I would so go wireless without a doubt, you'll be very happy with it.

What type of Internet service do you have?

When I get back home from school for the summer I will have a Wireless G router and a B wireless receiver. We have a fast DSL connection so I think I should be fine. Anyone else have a similar setup?

Comcast. My laptop has a G card. No issues.

well since im a wireless engineer.....

wireless is just as good as cat 5 if not better..... when you are setting up your network, just make sure there are no mirrors in between the router and the reciever. There is a reason wireless is the future, and its because its better

sorta off topic: i know the new xbox360 is supposed to have wireless controllers, but i have some questions about how they are powered... are they batteried powered? does it come with a charging station? can i get good life time out of them?

The wireless Logitech controller I have runs on AA batteries. They lasted about 3-4 months before I had to replace them.

Well thats pretty good life time... i guess microsoft will probably have even better life time
