Complaining about Xbox 360 on MTV

I had somebody tell me Microsoft isn't serious about the real gamers because they are going to reveal it on MTV which is geared towards teeny-boppers.

That might be the dumbest argument I've ever heard. The only gamer Microsoft cares about is the gamer that's going to spend money on their products.

Microsoft is smart to reveal it on MTV because that channel provides the main demographic for videogame players (I refuse to believe the "studies" that show the average age for a videogame player is in their late 20's/early 30's).

This is really geared towards the casual gamer, most people don't follow E3. All the specs, and the games in their full glory will be saved for E3, so to say that Microsoft doesn't care about the "real gamers" is pretty stupid. This MTV special is just going to show the console, the features it will offer, and some teaser videos of games (Perfect Dark Zero, Ghost Recon 3, and a few others). The best will be saved for E3.

Your right.. The average gamer is under 19..sigh.. If the numbers weren't true I doubt MS theme would be the HD era, cause HDTV's cost cash... & most parents aren't going to buy them a HDTV to go along with their 360..

I never said the average gamer is under 19. It makes sense for Microsoft to go HD because HDTV's have gone down in price and will continue to do so during Xbox 360's lifespan.

Parents will have an interest in HDTV not only because it provides a better gaming experience for their son or daughter, but also a better televised experience for themselves.

Disagree. The kats my brother's age are less into games compared to those around my age. I'm 22 and I still love the video games. I'd spend money on video games quicker than an outfit unlike the present day teens. They're so quick to impress those around them which causes them to search day and night for the "light" pointing towards the new trend or fashion statement. I think video games is geared towards those who are basically in college, and older. That's when "true" gaming starts.

MS may be hurting themselves because people may focus more on the PS3/Rev. at E3.

Oh suuurrre, I can see a tech dad bringing up the point now in a argument that a HDTV is valuble to the family because it'll give their kid a better gaming experience. Right. I wish my moms or pops did look out for me like that.

Seriously, I'd get a slap in the head for even mentioning that. Then again, my parents are ol' school...

yeah, no way that'd fly as a way to get a new HDTV...I don't even have one now though, can't justify the 2k+ price tag for a good one...I can wait a couple years until prices get a lot better
