William Ho (Pseudo): We'll keep pushing it [the hardware]...we're getting great performance of these Alpha 2 kits, but we can expect to have something much more extravagant by the time the final hardware is done, at 60fps locked. We want to make your eyes bleed. I can't wait.
Robbie Edwards (Ubisoft): The Xbox 360 is much more powerful than any entertainment component available to consumers right now. It's more powerful than the most powerful PCs, and the current generation consoles simply do not compare. Based on processing power alone, the Xbox 360 is the equivalent of 14 Xboxes. Imagine that the Xbox 360 is as much a generational leap as the HDTV is to a black and white TV.Go Noles!!! >>-----> -
Re: 1UP: Xbox 360 article *must read*
If the PS3 and Nintendo consoles are released within the next year or so, then I seriously doubt the Xbox 360 will be viewed as the weaker console. Additionally, with the Xbox 360 releasing sooner, it will gain the advantage that the PS2 gained over the Xbox by allowing the developers more time to become accustomed to working with the console. We're also talking about a level of power here that's almost unimaginable so while the later consoles may technically have more power, it would be very difficult to be able to notice this power difference (unlike today's PS2 and Xbox comparisons).Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Good read, thanks again for posting those informative links Flawless.
Dave Hasle (Monolith): Xenon will be out the door first and some of the first "second-generation" next-gen console games may be coming out possibly when the first-generation PS3 games hit the shelves.
That's something that sometimes is overlooked.Comment

Originally posted by FSU4LIFESo what he is saying is that when PS3 and the Revolution come out their games will technically be in the "infancy" while the Xbox 360 games will be in the "toddler" stage? Forgive the analogy, it's coming from a father of 2 little girls.
P.S.: Congrats on having 2 girls. I have 1, hopefully more in the future.Comment

Originally posted by tripwireThat's exactly what he was pointing out. The more a developer works with a system, the more they learn about what they can do with it later on. It doesn't always equal success, but it will place the 360 at an early advantage when it comes to quality game releases.
P.S.: Congrats on having 2 girls. I have 1, hopefully more in the future.
Thanks. My oldest is 4 and the new edition is less than a week old.Comment

Re: 1UP: Xbox 360 article *must read*
Dave Hasle (Monolith): Micro-transactions came to light about halfway through our development cycle of our projected launch title, Condemned: Criminal Origins. Since our development schedule is tight (as any launch title is), we are not currently planning on specific downloadable content to take advantage of the micro-transactions as of right now - though we're seriously considering it... Overall, I think it is an extremely smart decision. By owning the currency for this micro-economy, Microsoft is in a very strong position to dominate online console gaming. We've seen the growth of Google Mail, MSN mail and Yahoo mail with their storage space - now Microsoft will have terabytes of storage for downloadable content that people will line up to buy - and not just game-related items either. The micro-transactions will most likely unlock a new style, a new 'genre', of games all designed around the micro-transaction model. It will be familiar to watching the album format losing out to the single song format all over again. Instead of the $50-70 game cost, you'll probably be able to buy the $9.99 downloadable game from Xenon Live and then buy new "episodes" every few months. It will offer a new economic model between Publisher, Developer and Microsoft.
