Exactly, plus we don't know how old he is do we? I can remember stints as a kid playing Tecmo Bowl for 12 hours straight.

      Pretty neat, and impressive.

To those shouting "No life," at the guy, I can't really see where that's coming from. Millions of people play WoW, and he happens to be the most successful at getting to level 70 first. He seems very much to have a life to me, in that he set a goal, prepared for it, and reached it before anyone else.

I always find it amusing that people who make achievements online or in a computer-related setting are said have "no life," whereas the majority of those that use computers on a daily basis are just as likely to be wasting their life away, ultimately achieving nothing. I suspect that is where the criticism comes from. They've found success and notoriety doing nothing, where all the rest of us have to show for it is... nothing.

This guy is able to make the news doing something he loves and being the best at it. If that's the definition of not having a life, then I'll take it any day of the week. Props to him.

Never ceases to amaze me at how judgmental people can be. ANYBODY looking at this board and posting on it has a bit of a geek streak going on. It's video games as a whole. You're not going to go clubbing and go "hey baby, I am ranked #3 in the nation at Madden...wanna play with my stick?". I mean, no matter what game it is, or what you do, we're ALL GEEKS. The sooner people realize that, the better off everyone is.

But if you sit playing a day-long session of WoW, how is that different than vegging and watching TV nonstop? Seriously, I hear of people watching marathons of some movie for like 18 hours straight, but if you played a game for 18 hours straight, you have "no life".

Either way, it's a pretty hardcore addiction there, but damn...hello kettle, you're black.

If I played anything for 28 hours straight I think I might have permenant damage to my eyes. Could you imagine staring at WOW for 28 hours, you might start hullucinating (SP??)

Props to the guy for playing that long, but I think I might retire completly from that game if I were to play that many hours straight.

Happiness comes in many forms, for some its going out partying, others its playing sports with friends, others its reading books, and some its games...more power to the dude for doing something he enjoys and makes him happy...I would love to play fotball with friends 28 hrs at once, but its not going to happen with my schedule and it would be completely exhausting for all of us...but it would make me happy...

I agree with Crouch. It's hilarious to see people bashing someone like that. People get all crazy about an MMO player and heave criticism on them, yet the person who is doing the criticizing is usually the one who has a Madden dynasty, NCAA dynasty, NCAA Hoops legacy, and an NBA season going, has beaten GoW, Call of Duty, etc. and plays any or all of those games online.

Not a damn bit of difference whatsoever, but the MMO player is the nerd with no life.
