How does changing servers work? Don't think I have the time/desire to play again right now, but it's sometimes tempting. All my guys are on Windrunner from the past OS big WoW push...

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
Yep...about 66 1/2, got into a fantastic guild (Thanks, Eddie!), and my wife and brother are both hooked. I'm in the push in Outlands to hit 70 and get my flying mount, then gear up and rep out.
As for changing servers, you have to hit the "change server" button at the top when you are choosing characters, then select Argent Dawn. You'd have to roll a new character, though, you don't want to pay to transfer some character less than level 20 for 25 bucks.Comment

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
Yep, I transferred Ghost from Windrunner at 45, and he's who is 66 now. Wife transfered her druid, too. You can pay 25 bucks to move your character, or you can just log in and play on Windrunner, too. But, I gotta tell you, the guild that Eddie found is unbelievable. Fantastic group of people. I'd be nowhere near 70 without them.Comment

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
I have recently abandoned my Windrunner toon after almost 3 years. Switched to a PvP server and am absolutely loving it, so much fun. Started a undead shadow priest and am at level 47 and climbing. IF you want a get into PvP start a toon on Arthas and look me up (shadowritual).
I am sure I will still play my mage as I have too much invested in him to just stop forever. It is hard to start out again with nothing, especially leaving a toon that was fully epic'd and had over 4000G in the bank and already had the epic flyer. PvP server is just too much fun now though to play anything elseLast edited by injunwal; 01-12-2008, 09:30 PM.Actually...believe it or not from my physique... I'm a light eater - Clay T. Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
I tried a PvP server but just couldn't stand getting randomly ganked by ?? guys everywhere I went after 20. It had a different sense of tension all the time, and that was kind of fun, but I don't think I could do PvP full time.
At least I finally hit 70, have my flying mount, and I'm working on the epic

Grats on the 70 and the flyer. End game in Burning Crusade is where it really shines. The pre-BC end game was kind of a do the same thing over nad over again. Not anymore, the game opens up a lot at 70. I got the PvP shadow Priest to 49, only 9 more levels to the Outlands

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
I hate you guys...I burned out at the late 40's cause it turned more into the grind...sounds like they fixed it, and made the endgame better. Eventually I'll probably try this, but I've got other priorities now and don't need a life sink in WOW at the momentThe random ganking can be a bit much at times but returning the favor is sooooooooo much fun

Same here...my hunter was 45 for forever. I moved him to Argent Dawn, found a good guild, and made 70 within a few weeks.Comment

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
As now Terry can attest to this as well, its a completely different game at 70. SO much better than the wall that was 60 pre-expansion As any mmo, there is alot of grind to keep you busy, but there is a TON of things to do even at 70.
But like anything, you will get more enjoyment if you find a good guild which you get along with.Comment

I got a lvl 63 hunter. im grinding through the outlands to 70 right now. what do u guys reccomed I do as far as gear? my thinking right now is to get the epic PVP gear and run instances for something to do/finish the storylines, etc. do u guys think I should run kara, etc to get the epic gear? my friend who turned me onto the game is a 70 pally and he is going the instance way of obtaining gear. I dont think I would enjoy running kara 10 times to get bracers. u know what i mean?Comment

Kara is a fantastic instance. Mobs hit hard as hell, but every boss fight involes a good mix of skill and well geared group. The opera event is one of my favorites.I got a lvl 63 hunter. im grinding through the outlands to 70 right now. what do u guys reccomed I do as far as gear? my thinking right now is to get the epic PVP gear and run instances for something to do/finish the storylines, etc. do u guys think I should run kara, etc to get the epic gear? my friend who turned me onto the game is a 70 pally and he is going the instance way of obtaining gear. Curator is also one of my favorite fights. I have ran Kara maybe 9 or 10 times since i got the requirements necessary in order to survive, and i have yet to tire from it. Much better than the crap that was Molten Core.- Hood - Starring the hungry Wolf himself.
- Oz - Starring Dorathee and her dog Tito, Tinhead, Strawman, the lion Roar, and the evil Crone that tries to stop them on their way home!
- Romulo and Julianne - A tale of forbidden love...
As before, if you want to be able to run Kara, heroics and beyond, you will need to run with a good group to gear up. PVP is definitely a way to get some good gear and to help you initially, but don't think that getting completely decked out in PVP gear will help you get too far in raiding. Blizzard has done a decent job of separating both functions. So PVE is not dominant in PVP and vice versa ( with the introduction of resilience).
If you enjoy PVP go that route, otherwise the outlands PVE instances and encounters therein are absolutely worth it.Comment

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
Started playing this again after 2 or so years off and I finally hit 70 about 2 or 3 weeks ago on my shadow priest. We finally beat Netherspite tonight and in only our 3rd week of running Kara we cleared it. I think that's a pretty big accomplishment with a bunch of guys that are running Kara for the 1st time. We're going to try the 1st couple bosses in ZA tomorrow.
Here's the guild website, http://www.idguild.info/ and I'm on the Thunderhorn server btw.Comment

Re: WOW 2.3 - patch notes
Yeah, Kara is such a well made raid.. the fights are intense and it also involves a decent amount of strategy... the last 3 times we had the Opera event it was the Romulo and Julianne one. I really enjoy the Shade, Illhoof and Netherspite (now that we cleared him) fights myself. As before, if you want to be able to run Kara, heroics and beyond, you will need to run with a good group to gear up.
