What are the RP servers like??? How is it different from the Normal servers

Role Playing servers. Basically you play IC ( in character). so leet speak, or talking about how the bills might make the playoffs is heavily frowned upon and those type of people get reported. Think D&D full time.

again, some play hardcore RP, others are more laid back. But its alot more interesting than "hey i need 343 exp to level to 15 w00t! I pnwed j00" crap you see on other servers

I've always liked communites who role play their characters. Makes things alot more interesting and makes the game more immersive. Not for everyone though.

LOL, like i said, it isnt for everyone.

But for those who like it, its alot of fun. Plus you get away from the powergamers, which i utterly cannot stand.

no

chat channels are all OOC (out of character). But if you are in front of a group or with someone, you are supposed to adhere to the rules of the warcraft universe. In this case, your character doesnt know the name of the person just because you can see their name over their head unless you have asked them their name or they have decided to introduce themselves. And no, you dont use the "thous" or "thees". You play the character as if you were watching or tellin a story. In Character means just that, you are playing the role of that character. The real anal peoplel are a bit over the edge, but the regular people make it quite fun. The even funnier part is that everyone is going along with the way blizzard made the races to sound; so dwarves talk like scottish folk, the taruens like native americans, etc.



Dude its like any other Roleplaying game. You take the role of this "alter-ego" and you play it out. You never played D&D or anything like this? Hell, MUD's have RP'ers. They have been around since forever.

:y4: not quite. I guess blizzard made the taurens sound like indians cause of their bond to the earth and nature and all that. Their less technological ways ( compared to gnomes) to live in harmony with the mother land yadda yadda yadda

Trolls sound like jamaicans. Gnomes sound like technogeeks, etc, etc

I'll be on. I've also got serious lag. To the point where my settings are all at the lowest.

I'm sure it's due to the server being in a different time zone, but I don't really want to change yet.
