    CoH: Phantasm

    Mgo,

I started playing an alt ill/storm controller a few months ago, and I'm happy to say that I dinged 32 this past weekend. I finally got my pet. Since I only have one slot in it I decided to put a recharge in it. I'm able to have two out at one time for about 30 sec. Two phantasms and PA equals BOSS killer. Now I can solo anything up to lvl 35, and not even come close to dying. Even though they are powerful, they can be, at times, a menace. They produce major knockback often times knocking mobs into other mobs, and thus drawing lots of aggro. I've tried to place one phantasm on either side of a mob so that they can play "ping pong", but that doesn't work all the time. As of right now, I feel less incontrol of situations. Sure I can lock things down, but it doesn't make a difference if my pets knock everything all over the place. I hope with time and experience, I might get a handle on it.

I know Rand never hit 32 yet, so I wanted to give you feedback on what to expect if you ever came back for a bit...

yeah, knockback is a definite issue with Phantasm, I remember reading how groups tended to not like Phantasm as much because of that, especially tankers and scrappers. At the same point, knocking someone back means they're not attacking you, so overall I'd tend to think it's pretty nice, just have to get used to it.

I teamed with a couple of scrappers after I got Phantasm. I knew they wouldn't like the knockback, so I didn't even use the power. The team had enough offense to where we didn't really need the phants. When teaming with the melee guys, I think it's a very situational power. When teaming with blasters I don't have to hold back.
