Yes - some new anime-influenced costumes. And model scaling.

Character Creation

* New body scaling feature allows you much more ability to customize your character’s appearance.
* Body scaling can be modified at Icon stores, along with your costume. This costs influence (rate varies depending on character’s Combat Level).
* New costume pieces have been added to give your character a wider range of choices.

Initial Issue 4 impressions

I can honestly say that I was not looking forward to this update. I tried out PvP on test once and was not that impressed. I'll give it a whirl on the live servers, but it's really not something I'm interested in.

ARENA

I was in a 10 minute 4 vs 4 death match (kill as many times in 10 min) The first 3-4 minutes were spent trying to find the other team. They were all invisible and I (Raysin) was also. Once I saw them, they saw me and the battle began. The controller held me for a bit while his pets started hitting me. The scrapper on my team started to go after the controller. The controller immediately hit phase shift (couldn't be affected) After I was out of the hold, I hit phase shift, gained back some of my HP and buffed myself. I then proceeded to kick the crap out of the pet (animated stone) that was hitting me. The controller ran with Super speed and phase shift on. Since the super speed had been nerfed (-50% Accuracy debuff), there was no way I could chase the controller and fire at the same time. (It wouldn't have mattered anyway because he was phase shifted. We ended up killing the other team minus the controller, because he wouldn't face his beating like a man and unphase shift...

That was my one and only time in the arena. I'm sure other matches might be more fun. It actually was fun when we were fighting, but all that searching kind of took away from the fun.

COSTUMES

When I initially learned there were going to be new costumes in this issue I was happy. Then I found out they were going to be Anime based and I was like... "Huh?" I had no idea what that meant. I found out yesterday. While the costumes are cool if you want to make a Japanese school girl or a girl with a panda on her shoulder or a karate gi wearing guy, it just didn't match my concept of "superhero" Along with the new costumes they did add new hairstyles and new faces.

While I didn't think too much of the costumes, the body scaling feature is pretty cool. Can you say "Breast augmentation?" Every girl toon I saw yesterday had very large boobs.

POWER CHANGES

There were a ton of power changes that affected PvP and PvE. The most notable to me was the nerfing of Super speed/Super jump. (Although Statesman will be looking at the problem) I can honestly say that I have no idea how I will play Raysin and how my combos will work. I'm glad that I got to lvl 50 before the changed happened. The sad part is, is that I have a character that I spent 10 months on, that I literally know nothing about now. It's not like Raysin was uber or anything. (I have all the debt badges to prove it!) Raysin was based on speed. I'm hoping Statesman can come up with something. I hope they get rid of all the debuffs associated with the travel powers. It will make things more fun!

I believe they added a few new badges and they gave everyone a free respec. (1 year anniversary present. Although it wrote over the christmas one you received)

I'm really looking forward to I5. Rumor has it that new archetypes will be introduced and a new zone. I finally finished all the missions in Striga Island and I must say, that place is my favorite zone.

I reactivated my account today. Do you guys have any new characters I need to add to my friends list?

I did a quick mission with Nessa and teamed up with a scrapper. I gained 2.5 bubs on just that one mission. Seems a little easier to get the xp now...dunno..maybe its just me. Anyway, look for I AM, Nessa, or Miss Flash. I don't know if I will play with any of the others unless we do some lower level stuff.

XP has been raised for the bonus end of missions. Adjusting the difficulty on your missions will also get you more xp per mission. (I don't think that option was in when you last played)

I'll be on tonight. Probably around 7:30 pst. Send a tell if you see any of these guys on. Doesn't matter to me what we team with. Do you remember what lvl your characters are? I haven't seen Fossen around lately...

I didn't know you could adjust the difficulty of your mission. That's cool. Here is my list of characters and levels (to the best of my memory):

I AM lvl 25 blaster
Nessa lvl 23/24 defender/healer
Miss Flash lvl 18 controller (less than 2 bubs from lvl)
Fonzie lvl 18 controller
Pamui lvl 15? scrapper
Her-Man lvl 14 tanker
BigPimpin lvl 9? tanker
Icee lvl 6? blaster

I have Raysin and Mea on my list already, will add the others tonight if I get a chance to log on. Oh, I think all my toons have a free respec... is there anything I would need to defenitely change with any of my characters?

Without knowing your charcters and their powers, I wouldn't know what to change with your characters. The nerf that has affected me was with Fastest (MA/Regen). Regen numbers were lessened, so no amount of respec will change what my build is. I just can't take on 5 +2 guys anymore. I'll add all the names to my friends list. Whoever you'd like to lvl up is fine with me. If I don't have a guy around that lvl we can easily throw around a SK.

Sounds good. What all costume changes did they add? I'm looking to change I AM and Nessa's look. You can also change the colors your powers make right? And does it matter which costume shop I go to?

Costume Changes:

Unless you're into Anime or making your character with a Asian theme, nothing really changed. There seems to be more changes for females than males. It doesn't matter what icon store you go to. (Once you hit lvl 30 you will have to go to the icon store in Independance Port to get your extra costume slot)

Power Changes:

Not possible, but there have been rumors that it will be in the next issue.

Yea..had a good time. I died twice last night but it seemed like within 10-15 minutes I was already out of debt..it was great. Thanks for all the influence ... Raysin is definitely gonna be my sugar momma. You mentioned you shared your influence with your other alts. How do you do that?

Yep. Due to extended away time, I let my subscription lapse for the period I'm out of town.
