    Interview with Court_vision

How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?

Over 3 years now. I think I was searching for basketball games once and 'stumbled' upon this site. I'm not really much of a 'video game' player as such...but i've played basketball games for a decade. Just about played every game ever released. Finding this site and discovering people who also play a lot of b-ball games was pretty cool. I like the fella's opinions and enthusiasm here.

What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?

To be honest, I'd intended to donate for ages...I just had no idea how pay pal works. (I'm hopeless with online stuff...lol ) Once i worked out it was easy to do...I donated.

    Your favorite Sports Teams?

    All over the world.

In the NBA...i've followed Houston since they drafted Akeem. Dream and Drex are my all time favourites. I also like Philly and have a soft spot for the Knicks.

In the UK...followed Tottenham Hotspur since I was a kid.

In AUS...followed the Tigers since i could, literally, crawl.

In Europe...i love AC Milan. Maldini is a hero of mine and I was lucky enough to meet him once.

In ASIA...i follow a lot of the kick boxing. Muauy Thai.

    What are your hobbies?

    Following sport..see above

I also love reading...Graheme Greene and John Swain are amongst my favourites.

I also love travelling and learning other cultures. I've lived in a number of countries. I live on and off in asia.

Tell us about about your family?

I've been married 5 years now. We have no kids...but the mrs has made me promise we'll start trying next year sometime

She's a great woman...extremely bright + very kind hearted. She's also a huge sports nut like me...so we watch most games together. We get along great...she's like a best friend as well as a wife.

I thought you donated a while ago. Anyway, good interview.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Mainly Thailand and Malaysia. We are thinking of a year in Japan also...as me and you disussed once before.

I've just finished some post graduate studies...so i'm now a 'formally' qualified English language teacher. I've done some teaching over there before...though I was never 'qualified' etc. I enjoy it a lot. It's completely different to teaching in the 'west' (Which I personally would never do...)

My wife has a house + business opportunities over there, so it's looking increasingly likely that we'll settle there. I am cool with that. I love the lifestyle.

Mood...yes, donated ages ago. Just thought I'd finally get around to doing one of the interviews as it dawned on me that none of us really know each other that well. That despite 'chatting' now for a few years

Yeah, really looking forward to it. It's one reason i've decided against the XB360 (the other being the "incomplete" EA games for it).

Whether I end up in Japan or anywhere else around there...the hype for the PS3 is going to be huge there by the middle of next year.

I'll wait and see how things are. From living in asia before, I remember xbox games being almost impossible to find...while PS games were absolutely everywhere. The PS3 may be the better option for me

Ouch. Seen a video of that...brutal.

Good read and one of the more knowledgeable posters here.

Very nice interview Monk... I didn't even see this here. Congrats on getting "qualified". I'm working on my MBA in Mathematics & Teaching, hopefully I'll get there soon.

I've always enjoyed reading your posts. Like me, you are an avid b-ball gamer, and you can carry an intellectual conversation, and are open minded enough to at least give something a try. Maybe next year will be the year that ID is dethroned as "The Official Hardcore Gamer's Choice", as 2K series works towards that. Or then again, maybe Live will suprise us. Enough rambling, here's hopes that you'll stick around for a while
