Longest paper you've ever wrote for school?

I just finished a 13 page one today in English.

Two weeks ago I gave a 14 page one for Research Methods, although that oen had a lot of graphs.

Two weeks ago I gave a 14 page one for Research Methods, although that oen had a lot of graphs.

Oh man, those two words still make me shudder. It was the last class in the Communications department at my college, a 400 level class. It was a total nightmare, Wednesday nights from 6:30-9:00pm once per week.

My final paper in that class was somewhere around 60-70 pages. Alot of citing and so forth, it was probably 30 pages of actual original writing from me. To be honest I can't even remember what the hell I wrote it on (and this was only six months ago) since it ran off on a friggen million different tangets. I swear it was a dozen term papers combined into one. We were told to start it the first day of class (Jan. 18th or whatever) and we'd still struggle to finish it by the start of May.

I think the happiest day of my academic career (besides graduating) was the day I hated that damn paper in and was offically finished with that course.

I had to give a 15 minute speech, so I typed up all of it as paper before hand. A few pages less than yours, then again Im just a junior in high school so college will probably be longer.

I don't think I've ever written one over seven or eight pages long.

You just read what you typed in front of class? Isn't that a no-no?

Well I typed it up then cut it and pasted on notecards lol...got 30/30 on it for the IB so it worked.

60-70 pages in college.

I had to do a final for some liberal arts class about a foreign country and pretty much everything about it. Waste of my time considering the course had nothing to do with my major.

I'm just going to guess that heading into college as an English Major...some of my upcoming essays are going to be hella long.

My longest paper? 6 pages in HS.

Longest thing I've ever written? I re-wrote Hamlet in a more modern setting in 8 1/2 pages for my British Lit. class junior year.

I don't know how long my longest one was. It wasn't over 20 pages though. Do you guys write rough drafts? I would never do that unless the teacher specifies that he/she wants one submitted. I normally sit down @ the computer and write my paper straight off of the dome.

16 pages or so for a Chemistry paper in high school a few years ago. Can't remember what it was on, some type of cancer research maybe.

This topic brings back unpleasant memories from College and University.

I remember having to do 2 extremely long papers (although I don't remember the page length). One was a Crime research methods paper using the SPSS program (huge waste of time imo) and the other one was the history and current state of female policing in Canada.

I remember questioning myself many times while writing long research papers how it was going to benefit me in the "real world".

never. I just sit down and type it up. If the teacher requires different drafts, then I go back and take a few words out and mess up the grammar. I write things correctly the first time

I actually use both quite often.

However, all the Trig, Calculus and Advanced Statistics stuff I took, I haven't used in the real world. Or at least not close to the degree with which I used it in college. I'm in the minority, but I actually enjoy math. I hate writing though!
