When The GIGGAS first registered on the internet bulletin board, "Operation Sports", in March 2003, he started as GIGGAS2, with an unassuming Virginia Tech avatar. Almost 3 years later, he has reached a milestone recognizable by most posters on the internet: 5,000 posts. He is the 68th active member of Operation Sports to reach that impressive figure, posting a modest 4.75 posts a day.
Some members looked at his picture in the "Member Pictures" thread and noticed an immediate resemblance to the fictional wizard, Harry Potter. Obviously, the resemblance does have credibility; The GIGGAS does have similar har, and wears glasses.
"It's a remarkable achievement to accomplish, not a lot of OS users have hit the mark, that's for sure," said The GIGGAS, late Monday night, "I didn't think I would stay here enough to get 5,000."
Remarkably, most of his time on OS was not spent on OS at all. He was a member of the forums at MaddenMania.com until the termination of his account in late 2003. The GIGGAS, to this day, does not know the reason of his "banning", but he has grown past that to become a more mature poster.
"I remember first posting here after my banning at MM. I pledged to be a valuable member of the community here. That... uh, didn't really work out. I don't really contribute much. Ah well, I have fun with the people on here."
He has a list of the posters he would to thank/acknowledge.
"I think that the forum is less individuals, and more a family. There are jabs being thrown everywhere, but generally, we get along and care about each other. I remember when I went in for surgery on my nose, and everyone seemed to post in my thread to make sure that I was OK."
The GIGGAS has no intent on letting up his posting habits. In fact, he has commented that "it will only get more intense." The GIGGAS will graduate high school in June, and he is hoping that he will attend Radford University in the fall.
