Don't EVER play basketball in a pair of New Balance shoes...
Playing basketball in running shoes is just plain silly.

I did that once and promise I'll never do it again.

I buy New Balance for running shoes from roadrunner magazine. They have good prices plus you can order most new balance from that mag in wide regular or narrow which is great for me because I have narrow feet. My only problem with them is that they wear out rather quickly.

Asics makes good shoes for runners who know what kind of foot/stride they have, rather than in trendy colors and stupid fake technology like Nikes.

The Gel Cumulus 7 is my recent model of choice, but I'm a fairly neutral runner with what's called an 'efficient' stride. 80%+ of people are over-pronators to some degree. If you want a pair for running, go to a real running store or roadrunnersports.com to make sure you're getting what you need for your type.
