    CPA or a tax program?

I've always done taxes myself but hired a CPA this year since we just bought a house this year. Just curious which way you do it & why. If you use a CPA, and don't mind, please post with how much you pay them. I'm curious since I've never used one before. We're paying ours $300.

    Turbo Tax.

Even with a house and Roth IRA's and other investments, it's pretty easy and quick to do. I can usually get Federal, State and Local taxes done in a few hours.

Turbo Tax online. Easy and efficient. You get your refund in about ten days, unless you have to pay $1600 like me.

I've always done it by myself, usually online. I'm not paying someone to do my damn taxes, that money is mine!

I get the program just so I have it on the CPU if needed down the line. Submitted it last Monday and I got my state refund today by Direct Deposit.

Then again, I have an accounting degree and took 3 semesters of tax!!
